  1. This is great news actually. Because on 8th Nov any 6pm viewers will still be able to keep to their routine! Just have to click a button on the remote! And if I miss the 5star the day before, I know I can sit down for a 1 hour Home and away screening 6-7 and catxh up channel 5 might actually know what they're doing guys, seemingly this means the 6pm neighbours on 5star has been canned.canned.Home and away airing should attract more viewers at 6pm to 5 star and more still stick around for first look at 6:30pm loads more advertising revenue for the show and they can probably build the audience share on 5 star whilst also building the Shar on channel 5 with neighbors and eggheads.
  2. All 5star first look EPs above 400k in the latest Barb ratings. They were up here during lockdown too. Hopefully, if channel 5 do actually market the change and let people know where it is at 6:30 (everyone who has channel 5 also has access to 5 star) it could be over 600k. And as I've said there are adverts that make the show money over on 5star. (C5 have not played adverts during the 6pm showing for years now, just program trailers) There is indeed method in the madness. I do think 5star could run around a week behind aus accounting for the eractic channel 7 schedule and it would greatly help. I received my standard rubbish reply from C5 that didn't answer any of my questions lol
  3. Yeah My5 is HD so it's not a big deal. It's the perception that others have of the show being moved that seems to be the biggest deal haha I have emailed channel 5 asking if they're going to be advertising the changes for Home and Away and not just neighbours and also if they would consider this as an opportunity to catch 5 star upto AUS pace. Let's see what **** and bull I get hahaha
  4. I think they're hoping to bolster the share of the lunchtime and the 5star first look (which by the way is basically the only thing that gets any viewers on 5star) especially now that Wentworth is ending. Here are the top rated programmes on 5star week commencing 6th sept 1. Home and Away 389,568 2. Home and Away 373,491 3. Home and Away 364,900 4. Home and Away 350.926 5. Wentworth Prison 306,616 6. Home and Away 290,447 Next in line was a film at 168,000 So home and away doubles most other shows on 5star. And this is often higher than the 6pm repeat. Really, they will be hoping they can push this 5star figure above 500,000 and rake more money in as there's 2 advert breaks on the first look showing. Thinking about it, they could soften the blow for us here by announcing home and away will catch up with aus pace on 5star. Imagine that!
  5. If they made it available on My5 right after at 7pm that would be fine as it's be in hd on there and I will just watch that. But you're not going to watch it in SD when you have an HD option elsewhere. That's my thoughts anyway haha
  6. I think they want more of us watching 5 star showing so we are exposed to all those blummin adverts. ? They're been trying to do it a while now. With all the messages on screen telling us first look is over on 5 star and the direct to camera shots of the cast telling us to switch over if we "can't wait to see what happens next" How do we lobby them for 5stsr in HD????? LOL
  7. Providing people know it's still on over on 5star yes. I suspect this will all happen over the winter break so it will return in January at lunchtime and on 5 star only. I guess time will tell, as will the figures!
  8. It's very annoying that the 6pm slot will be gone that it's had all these years but hopefully it beefs up the audience on 5star. I think that's their plan. Neighbours doesn't rate that better at teatime so it's not like they are replacing it with something that rates loads more. Just frustrating that home and away gets this treatment since neighbours arrived on the channel. Lol. I just hope they put a lot of support and promo into letting the audience know how to find their evening fix of home and away. Should I hold my breath???
  9. Bank holiday tomorrow means the evening showing is at the slightly later time of 6:30pm on C5 and 7pm on 5Star. Just a heads up
  10. @Bri1231are you watching on 5*? The blocks are correct there because they are one episode in front of channel5
  11. I'm thinking of offering to do it for them. Social media is a big part of show like Home and Away to keep the audience engaged and it helps spread the word..... And it's free. Nuts
  12. No idea about a specific problem with 5star of late. The main overall issue is that it is not in HD which Is just infuriating. I've noticed it's better on one of my TVs and dreadful on the other. all the films and dramas they show on 5star too you'd think HD would be a must nowadays
  13. I thought this initially however there's a couple of other things at play when you go a bit deeper. The 6pm showing is doing about 400k and. 6% share give or take which isn't as bad as we think. Neighbours at 5:30 is doing similar numbers (it gets most it's audience at lunchtime). Hollyoaks at 6:30 is also similar in numbers. There's another 300-400k watching home and away at 6:30 over on 5star so immediately you can double the 5 star showing by having no 6pm airing I guess. Added to the lunchtime figures and we ar rover a million. However, after home and away the 6:30 news drops off to less than 200k and loses the momentum C5 has for rest of the evening. They've said they're making eggheads a one hour show so I can see that going at 7 perhaps? The neighbours contract renewal with C5 expires at the end of 2021. Could something be afoot there?? It's very expensive! I imagine a likely scenario is that neighbours will go to 6:30 in the view to boosting it more and then the channel can take a larger audience to 7pm. I guess we will find out soon!
  14. Same I record the 6pm and get round to it at about 8pm normally. Home and away has gone up against Hollyoaks in the past when channel 5 had football on and I don't think Hollyoaks is a big worry these days looking at the figures. If they pushed home and away to 6:30 I do think that the first look should be stopped over on 5star so that the viewing figures are not split in half. It performs really well for 5star though and probably pays to keep the lights on! Haha
  15. It looks like Channel5 are looking to adjust their teatime schedules around as they have applied to ofcom to change their news output to a one hour programme 5pm -6pm. Wondering if this would affect Home and Away for those interested in this kind of thing https://www.ofcom.org.uk/consultations-and-statements/category-3/licence-change-request-for-news-output-on-channel-5
  16. I think increasingly the 5star airing has become very important ratings wise so it could aid that decision to have more emphasis on that airing being THE place and then it's repeated on C5 the next afternoon. I guess we will see! All speculation. To be honest the 5star showing doesn't look too bad in SD on my new TV. If I'm vanished upstairs on the other TV though it looks dreadful ?
  17. That's a fair point, it matter dledd these days but the cliffhangers won't have the same effect. Also, it's now airing in the correct blocks at 5star Pace. So it is still possible to watch it in its intended blocks. It's just not in HD...!
  18. I'd put a tenner on us being out of block sequence until the Christmas break!
  19. OK. UPDATE. after some digging around, tonight's 5star episode looks to be going ahead as scheduled. Today's channel 5 episode looks to be Airing on Monday now. There is no episode scheduled on 5star for Monday evening. Presumably to catch back up to one episode in front.
  20. I'm still trying to work that out. As It Stands, it's off completely but available on My5 catch up still. The 5star first look at 6:30 looks to still be scheduled to go ahead. Which is very higgledy piggledy. I would expect that to either be pulled or changed to air today's C5 episode again. I'll update you as I know
  21. Channel 5 looks to have interupted schedules today (like many channels) did to coverage of HRH Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh's death. Likely to affect the lunchtime viewing of Home and Away by the looks of it. ****UPDATE**** 6PM showing has been dropped also for the same reason.
  22. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong but typically somewhere between 1million -1.3 million once the lunchtime, teatime and 5star first look episode is added together. Not sure how much of a difference My5 catch up has but it seems it's always up as One of the most popular on demand
  23. Interesting announcement yesterday from C5. They've poached Eggheads from BBC. Historically this airs at 6pm opposite Home and Away. I imagine some speculation to follow about a rejig of the schedules. ****UPDATE**** 6pm showing of Home and Away has been dropped also.
  24. Can we start shipping John and Irene yet? Would make for some awkward shifts at the diner! ?
  25. Well in the TV guide first look home and away is in for 6pm on 5star on New year's Day!! Which suggest back on C5 on Monday 4th Seen some rumours on Facebook about our transmission catching upto Aus due to this
