Im wondering if we might get weekly episode drops (this could be testing the waters) on my5 and then repeats on 5star. The show props 5star up from ratings point of view so I cant see it moving off there. All soaps in general need to adapt to a more streaming friendly format to survive and even have a chance at attracting newer audiences so I wouldnt be against it tbh. I think itvx launching and going for a Stream 1st strategy will change the landscape a bit. Other broadcasters will be watching on to see what happens with that.

Sounds about right then doesnt it! Interesting 'My5' strategy and not linear on 5star like in the past.

Theres a rumour that classic episodes are going to be going out on My5 during the winter break. Can anyone Confirm? I cant find anything about it. Would be interesting as theyve not done this for a few years.

Thats right 5star returns the friday before. Last year this landed on new years eve. Which was rather strange I must say!! They will keep first look. I imagine we are unable to watch on catch up etc until the next day to make us want to watch 5star and the advertising $$$$$ associated with it is probably too great to change.

Tomorrows C5 lunchtime repeat is set to be the next episode on. The one that didnt air Friday lunchtime still went out again at 6 on 5star and is available on my5/catch up. I imagine as you say the monday after will be the same situation but nothing is confirmed etc yet. They are really last minute confirming their schedules with stuf flike this. Presuma ly as they wait to see what the competition does.

Not as of yet. The news broke at 6:30 as first look was going out as normal on 5star. Expect disruption tomorrow. Australia will only just be Waking to the news.

The audience share is like 15% some days for the C5 lunchtime showing. So I dont see it moving off the main Channel either. It should be available on my5 after the 5star first look airs though. I hope this happens soon. Despite the bad feeling towards C5 they have actually increased their viewershio as a Channel by something mad like 20% in the last few years. Mainly driven by their dramas and aiming at ABC1 viewers. And its a good strategy. If only the "oldies" are going to be watching linear, then you want up market oldies, as that attracts the better advertisers who are willing to pay more. Its working for them. The yoof will be on my5 and paramount plus content. Really good example if this, my mother in law and I were catching up on Home and Away together on my5 last week and she commented how different the adverts were. She said they were like cinema adverts. Normally she watches the lunchtime C5 with funeral plan ads ?

Ive noticed this about Cash too. His thing was getting the locsls on side with local policing. Using your judgement etc, then next thing, every line and dot is crossed. Its really frustrating. Although Im. Always crítica of YCPD to be fair they can never win haha I think Bella going to NY with Emmett wouldve worked better the first time he went there.

It was either called "Five Life" or "Fiver" before 5star haha. I think they only started the first looks around 2006 (Obvs before neighbours came over) but on C5 the lunchtime was always a repeat of the night before 6pm showing. (so lunchtime was the last time that episode was broadcast) 6pm was the premier ep on C5. I don't think. It matters these days because back then there wasn't a demand app for C5. There is now of course. They really ought to make the episodes available on my5 after the first look has aired now that theres only 1 repeat at lunchtime the next day.

I agree. And they may try and capitalise on some floating homeless Aussie soap viewers by moving it back. I think there's a chance that it could happen but it's not the be all and end all if not. I think if between now and then they announce new commissions for daytime etc, then probably not? Watercolour challenge might be moved etc or egghead changed to 1 hour. If none of this. Is announced, as you say the slot will need filling, let see what happens haha I have caught the 6pm showing over on 5star a few times, there's no adverts in the break within the programme, there's quite a lengthy advert break with ads between that showing and 6:30 first look. Then the usual adverts galore 2 ad breaks during first look. Presumably to capitalise on the higher viewing figures from 6:30pm onwards

Think we all expected this as we all know about the life of series deal and the shift of focus to 5star etc. It's good that they've put this out there for the general wider audience to reassure them

Just to add to this, I know with some die hard fans, emotions are high, and there's a lot of nostalgia about online from folk who dont watch soaps, but I think channel 5 are getting an unfair amount of flack. At some point, the eye watering money spent on the other show would catch upto it. They need to make the numbers work right? Network 10 shunted it a decade ago, and should accept some of that responsibility. OK back on topic for home and away C5 scheduling now haha....
