What was Irene studying at uni in 2003?. It's a shame it was not teaching or something that might have opened more doors for her in instead of returning to the Diner. Imagine if she had become a teacher I bet Irene would have become principal by now.

You could Ruth kind of replaced Ailsa, even though it was over decade after Ailsa's death that they bought her back! I bet if Ailsa had stayed they probably wouldn’t have worried about bringing her back, at least not as a long term regular.

Since 2013 Irene has had storyline every second year. 2013 Breast cancer . 2015 Rape secret . 2017 custody battle over Luc . 2019 Storyline over self defence.

But at least she got a proper death scene unlike Beth!. Beth might not have been around as long as Ailsa but she still was a memorable enough character for that era and deserved a better send off. Also if Ailsa/Judy was not leaving in 2000 do you think they would given Alisa heart attack in 2000 season final for end of year cliffhanger?. But the outcome would be different with her surviving since she was not leaving.

Funny thing is Kyle and Hunter only ever had one scene together!. I wish they had more screen time!.

Many people disliked Ailsa's death but personally I didn’t mind it as it was quick and a shock to everyone as after everything Ailsa went through that year she didn’t turn her back on Summer Bay. She finally got her life back on track and when she died it was huge shock to all characters as they all thought she would be in Summer Bay forever. Everyone was at the funeral crying and looked like they all felt life in Summer Bay was never going to be the same without Ailsa.

Funny thing with Beth for me was that she wasn’t one of my favourites while she was on the show. I wasn’t too worried when she first left and it was not until after her death that I liked her character a lot more. Then I thought I did and I wished she hadn't left. I thought she was one of the best ever mums on the show and after rewatching her again I found her to bug me l and didn’t think she was that great of a mum. I found out why it took me til after she left that I liked her character. It was a case of the heart grows fonder with absence. But I think what also made me angry was the terrible, off screen death Beth got as till this day I think it was a most cheap and cheesy exit. Beth didn’t even get a proper funeral. We just got a beach service with Matilda talking. That just seemed insulting to Beth's character as she didn’t get a proper death scene or a proper funeral. I know characters like Matt and Rob had exits of just disappearing but they were not on the show as long as Beth. Beth was a far more memorable character and had more storylines than them. Sure Beth might not have had any storyline's that were central to her in her last year but she was supporting in other people storyline’s like Matilda and Robbie. People complain about Ailsa's death but at least we saw her die and we had a jam packed funeral in next episode at the beginning of the year with everyone crying.

I will always be angry at Pippa's exit in 1998. Sure she might have come back many times after but there was just no emotion to her last episode. At the very most I wanted Pippa to have a heart to heart talk with Sally as she was leaving behind the one foster child she arrived in the bay with. Pippa didn't even get a proper final scene with Alisa/Alf/Irene/Donald /Marilyn if I remember rightly. I can't help but wonder if they gave Ailsa and Pippa bad exits on purpose because they were angry at well regarded Australian actress's like Judy and Debra quitting and expected Debra and Judy to stay on the show for years and years.

I mean she might try to be good cop but certainly failed at all counts. I mean I think she was saved more times then she saved anyone and in fact having trouble remembering when she saved someone. She definitely was lower version of Charlie as least Charlie was far better written character and least Charlie did seem to better job at helping others and Kat made far to obvious she was on to Charlotte and someone like Colby or Charlie would be smart enough not to let someone dangerous unstable like Charlotte know they on to her. Its funny how they seem to talk about her death in media as if she was fan favourite and yet seemed unpopular in fan community.

I think she could easily get acting work again and expressing in London after all panto stuff she done !. Besides she doesn’t need to work anymore as she in retirement age .

I can’t see Dean cheating as Dean is not the cheating type because he is not easily lead and more strong-willed, whereas Brody always was easily lead and just look at other times when he gave in to drugs and married Ziggy when cleaning he was not fully into the idea. Of course not saying cheating only because you are easily lead but just saying differences between Dean and Brody.

I just wish Donald was around til end of Angie saga as I would love to see him give Angie walk of shame. But I think Donald left at right time.

Despite not liking Ziggy much at first, I thought she was too much of brat but I've grown to like her as she's someone that knows her business and she knew how to get Dean away from his dad.

I know it’s not character related but good to have someone like Lynne in cast as she very devoted to show and fans as she is very she honest with fans and bought rumours to PTB attention to close them down.

I like her first time round but second time round i was quite indifferent to her.

In 2012/2013 Celia was being nasty and judgmental towards Harvey and Morag was putting Celia in her place by saying that's rude Celia even for you. Celia snapped back and said you have come out with rude things in the past. Morag said back maybe I did once but I have learnt to keep my opinions to myself at least most of the time.

Morag was different beast by then and so was Celia. I wish they gave Morag more positive exit. They might made up at one of there parents funerals and annoyed how they forgotten about there parents and in 2002 Morag told Flynn that there dad dead 16 years ago and that’s other error they made.
