  1. RR1 has been busy with the biannual character profile updates again, which take all current characters up to the end of the 2016 season, and these have now started to be uploaded. To start with there's a newly completed profile for Chris Harrington, and some updates to Josh, Andy, Heath & Bianca's profiles, and today we start on the current regulars. http://www.backtothebay.net/characters/ I've also today updated the Births, Marriages and Deaths pages with some of the latest developments which have now aired in the UK. Since the last post in here there's also been some further location updates.
  2. That saves waiting a couple of years Not sure on the other ones mentioned at the moment (Volleyball and Kelly & Travis)
  3. I was pleasantly surprised to see that it's pretty much unchanged, same certainly can't be said of the other side of the road (Max Richards' house once stood there but is long gone) Funnily enough, one of the neighbouring houses will be making an appearance on-screen in the coming months... Adam's Wharf / Harling Apartment Thanks to QA for the pics as ever.
  4. Not that I'm aware of, may depend on your region of course, but I certainly haven't seen any mention/complaints of a missed ep. It's showing up as normal on Plus7 though if you need to catch up.
  5. Ah, you mean the Northern Territory. It was centered around the Alice Springs area - the scenic flight/picnic scenes were at Ormiston Gorge around 140km west of there, and the building Bianca was being held in was actually part of an old film set built on the Ooraminna Homestead, around 40km south. I think their cabin was also at the latter, but I haven't really looked into it too much as we don't have anyone nearby to take pics for the site anyway
  6. How's this for service? http://www.backtothebay.net/locations/jennifers-house/ It's on our photography list, near to a high-priority location, so fingers crossed. It's not really in the usual area used for filming, so that might be perhaps why. Got that one also ready to go up on the site - wharves to tend to be quite tricky given the amount they've used and the fact they're not as easily accessible to view on Streetview
  7. Scenes of Heath and Bianca's what?
  8. Yes. Her boyfriend was Tim O'Connell (played by Nick Hardcastle) and the other guy was Scott Irwin (Heath Ledger)
  9. They didn't use any shots of the Palmy one surprisingly (I guess it was a weekend though so maybe no-one got any footage). But then using footage from around the lighthouse would have made the Summer Bay geography even more confusing on this occasion The ones we did see on-screen were in the national park the other side of Pittwater, most likely from one of the controlled burns the bush fire brigade did there last year.
  10. That's right, it's the one that leads up to the 'Pier Diner' etc. and then loops back around to the Surf Club, so has been used in countless scenes.
  11. Good to hear it! Yes there were a couple of scenes 'near' the store that week, they were filmed here in Ryde, but the store exterior wasn't seen and doesn't appear to be in the immediate vicinity (even before the developments across the road). Same with the other scenes for that incarnation of store - one near another row of shops in Clareville, another in a random car park, and one was just filmed on the road near the Surf Club, where we saw a sign pointing to the store which was off-screen. I don't know if it was consistently the same location throughout the year offhand, but some of the TAFE scenes (with Gypsy & Patrick in particular) were filmed at the same location as the school (the next one awaiting upload). They did use a different place for the Uni in 2003 which is on our 'to photograph' list. As for the kids park, I don't really remember a specific one without finding it in eps, but it could be the small one at Palmy at the southern end of the parkland? Or there's a larger one in Collaroy directly opposite the Fraser apartment...though I don't know if it was there in the 90s.
  12. They were old schoolfriends, Martha knew that Doris always wanted children but she couldn't have any of her own.
  13. Yeah I get what you mean It actually took me a long time to 100% confirm what the building actually was - I'd read numerous times about the Beacon Store in my research over the years, but it seems all those who worked on the conservation and heritage of the area weren't actually aware of its exact location and had no records of it. They had it marked down on maps as likely to be directly opposite the Boathouse (diner), and they'd incorrectly labelled the actual Beacon Store as the site of an unknown building, possibly a campsite launderette. There certainly was a lot of history there in Summer Bay terms which we never learnt about on-screen - before it was sold to Ailsa, the store was run for years by Stan & Julia Fogarty (the parents of Bobby's adoptive mother Doris Simpson), and Martha Stewart worked there a couple of days a week when Stan & Julia went to the city to pick up stock.
  14. I thought it may be of interest to Blaxland 89 as it happens to be in Newport, where they're staying
  15. Yes, there's a story/picture preview on the main site for those interested http://www.backtothebay.net/news/2017/03/02/uk-home-away-specials/ They're on 5STAR on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
  16. I'm not sure on the accuracy with that, as it certainly wasn't a regular filming location in the early years (even having reached 1995 it's been rarely seen), and it sounds quite similar to the story of the Beacon Store opposite, which is detailed here and also occurred in 1989. The backdrop wouldn't necessarily be accurate for the actual exterior though, especially if they don't plan to use it for scenes. I know at one point the backdrop seemed to be of this area. Palmy's General Store is in the spot you mentioned, but I know it's not that one.
  17. Unfortunately, as with his final store, I haven't been able to track it down. For some reason neither of them were ever used in any exterior scenes, so I've only had stock shots to go on which haven't really helped. Whilst there were a couple of scenes which were supposed to be 'just outside' or 'around the corner', they didn't use the same location as the stock shot. However.... ...this request has now been fulfilled - and it might just be in an area of interest for you too Andrew & Donna's Flat Thanks to QA as ever for the pics.
  18. Sounds like Episode 2314 - unfortunately my eps are sporadic in those first few months and I don't think I have that one.
  19. Yeah that's 'Asleep on the Lawn' by The Hampdens I'm sure that one was either one they sang as part of the band(s), or as part of their musical version of Romeo & Juliet... though I'm not sure offhand whether it was supposed to be an original or not. Been flicking through some of those eps to try and find it again but no joy so far. I haven't been able the find the song from when Don & Maz went to the church either.
  20. Yup they're all uploaded by myself (not that BTTB technically owns them of course) Go for it. The Pinterest thing is just a way for people to share pics from the page, like the Facebook share buttons etc.
  21. Hopefully we'll be getting something sorted this year which will make all that sort of information much more accessible.
  22. Answers here again (1418 and 1454)
  23. I'm working on the page for the 2001-2008 location (the grimy one Beau mentioned), and we've got pics for two more SBH locations used after that which will be up at some point. The current one is awaiting photography.
  24. The second filming location for Summer Bay High has now been added to the site: Summer Bay High School (1996-2001) And so we move from a hospital, to a hotel We did actually have this one on the site around 12 years ago - but as I didn't have the episodes to hand to check through back then, and with the map on the H&A production paperwork I had not actually specifying which exact buildings they'd used, I ended up taking a pic of the wrong side
  25. Not really worth a thread, so thought I'd post this in here: There's also two new locations on the site this week which are being discussed in the Location thread: Summer Bay High School (1988-96, 2000, 2008-09) Northern Districts Hospital (1994-2010)
