It's not just the dreadful acting that bothers me. Xavier is a horrible character, and no matter who played him, I don't think I could ever like him.

I don't think Roman deserves Martha's love in the future after the way he has behaved around her following Jack's death. He's been so disrespectful of her grief, and he's lost my respect completely, which is strange because I don't like Martha. However I don't think anyone who has just lost their spouse deserves to have someone clinging onto them pathetically in the hope of having a relationship in the future. What Roman and Martha had last year was nice, but it's in the past, and he's ruined his chances now, so I hope the writers just forget about this pairing for good.

I don't know, he isn't the most complex character ever - but he does have a personality. He's fun-loving, and has a good sense of humour, as we've seen while he was dating Belle, but he also has a strong temper, and obviously has some serious weaknesses. He's not uber-bland and a cardboard cut-out like Jack was. Anyway, we've only seen Angelo for about six months, I'm sure more of his personality will be revealed as time goes by. Writing him off now would be like saying Aden is nothing but a bully at the beginning of last year.

Angelo panicked and made a huge mistake. It's easy to say he should have done this, or he could have done that, but put in his shoes, I think a lot of people would have done exactly what he did - fled the scene. I think I probably would have. It's shameful, but it's also very true to real life.

I'll ignore that you-know-what spoiler. I have to say I've really warmed to Charlie lately, she's a very watchable character. Her tough, no-nonsense personality is one that in a woman is often brushed off or belittled as being a "bitch". But Charlie is not a bitch, she's extremely strong, and unwilling to compromise her professionalism, as we've seen recently in the way she dealt with Angelo. I love how she didn't take any crap from him and made him continue with the walk-through at Jack's murder scene, despite Martha's presence, and I feel sorry for Angelo, but it doesn't make me respect or admire Charlie any less. When Charlie first arrived, I wasn't so sure about her, I thought she was a bit too frosty, but now we've seen a human side to her, I like her very much.

I'm sure Roman's intentions are good, and he only wants to support Martha in her time of need, but we all know he loves her and wishes they could be more than friends. He really seems like a vulture circling over her at the moment, it's just creepy the way he's always there. I'm surprised Martha is so unaware of how he really feels, she didn't pick up on the conflict between Roman and Charlie before they split. I thought she would be perceptive enough to at least suspect that Roman may still have some feelings for her. Imagine if Kirsty died and Leah was all over Miles, he'd know straight away what was going on. It sucks that Roman is behaving this way, because he was always such a decent guy before. If you ask me, Charlie had a lucky escape.

The similarities with Ruby and Cassie are striking, even in looks. Her friendship with Annie is quite similar to Cassie and Mattie's as well. I'm quite happy about that though, because Cassie was a very interesting character, and it was a shame she left. Ruby doesn't feel like a rip-off or second rate Cassie, more like a continuation of that character type. What I can't understand about Ruby is the way she has behaved since Xavier arrived. Why is she acting so desperate around him? It goes against everything we've learned about her as a character since she arrived. I know she hasn't been in the show that long, but she has been there long enough for us to know a few things about her: 1) She likes OLDER men. 2) She's very mature for her age and knows how to behave appropriately around guys. 3) She's usually the one dishing out advice on love to her friends, not in need of advice from someone like Annie. 4) She has quite strong morals, as shown by her dislike of Matthew and Elliot. So, why on earth would she pathetically throw herself at a 15 year-old drug dealer like Xavier??? The mind boggles. I think the writers have made a huge mistake with this pairing, or at least how the beginning of their romance was written. Realistically, Xavier would have been the one doing all the chasing, and Ruby would have been more interested in one of his older mates. Throwing herself at him, or needing advice on how to make him like her would have more like Melody or Annie's style. Ruby and Xavier getting together screams of a case of convenience. They just both happened to be single so the writers paired them up without even thinking about it. Truly idiotic.

I find them extremely sexy. It's nice to see a couple that are a bit more on the casual side, and not declaring their undying love for each other after 5 minutes (part of the reason why I despise Tachel ). They're having fun, and why shouldn't they? They're both young and free and gorgeous. Leah needs to follow Charlie's lead and find her very own Angelo to ease her, ahem, frustration.

I agree with this, Kain O'Keefe is gorgeous! He was so hot as Callan, the guy that drugged Matilda. I don't know if I'll feel uncomfortable fancying a character who has a mental disability though. As for Xavier - I'm not impressed. He's not good-looking, and he appears to be a really weak character, just following the crowd because his older mates are doing something, he's a bit pathetic really. I realised lately that for the first time ever in the history of the show, I don't really like any of the high school students. They're such a disappointing bunch at the moment. I only like Geoff and Ruby when they hang out together, but that doesn't happen very often. I used to like Nicole, but I've gone off her since she had a go at Melody. I like Melody, but I'm not sure she'll stick around for much longer, but we're stuck with the rest of them until next year at least. As for Annie and Jai, they might as well not be there, they do nothing.

Changelo is a great couples name! Charlie would have to be drunk the whole time though, because she's so icy and stand-off-ish when she's sober, Angelo would have a difficult time getting a laugh out of her. I really like both characters though, and while I would like to see them together, I get the feeling they would be a bit like Tachel - only together because things didn't work out with someone they REALLY loved. However if they just want to be 'friends with benefits', that could work out quite well for them. As long as Angelo has to take his shirt off its all good.

You're right she is annoying, but she's also likeable in a lot of ways. It's funny how much she and Nicole are alike - they both have terrible mothers, they both fell for Geoff, they both felt lost at one point or another, they both got involved in the wrong kind of guy (Elliot/Matthew). Yet Melody seems to draw a lot more hatred than Nicole. To me Melody is like a normal girl, like millions in schools all over the world, whereas Nicole is more of a pretty, popular type who gets what she wants most of the time - which isn't very easy to relate to most people. Maybe viewers just prefer the escapism of Nicole, to the reality of Melody.

Can't believe I'm replying to my own post, but anyway, it's been a month and I've had time to think, and I reckon Martha and Roman will definitely happen. The writers seem content to leave characters like Leah, Irene, Colleen and Alf with little or nothing to do, but newer characters like Roman or Martha never go very long without drama, so if Jack really is dead, I think it will only be a matter of time before 'Marman' becomes a reality once again. Look at Sally for example - Flynn died in early 2006, and by late 2006 she and Brad were firmly established as a couple. Hayley and Scott also took less than a year to get together after Noah's death. HOWEVER - both relationships were examples of extremely poor writing, and were rejected by fans of the show. If the writers had even an ounce of sense they wouldn't let Roman and Martha happen, but I think it's inevitable that they will happen no matter what. What a sad conclusion.

The doors were locked before the crash, and Melody couldn't have predicted the crash, so she didn't do it with the intention of hurting anyone. If she was high, it was probably a stupid prank that made sense to her in her paranoid state.

Kane's dangerous driving at a high speed caused the accident, not Melody locking the doors.

As much as I've hated Jack for so long, I have him to thank for introducing the world of Home and Away to the glorious and legendary vision of loveliness that was Sam Tolhurst-Holden/Kylie Deeks. How strange that the dullest character the show has ever had should cause the arrival of one of the most interesting.

It couldn't last, Roman would be in the same position Brad was with Sally. They were nice together (even if I was in the height of my "I Hate Martha" phase back when they were together), but I think a reunion would be a mistake.
