  1. I well admit I despised Andy initially. But duno he is coming around, the way he reacted to breaking off with Charlotte, was very matured, didn't see that coming. But he is deadwood, as is most of the cast. Josh, Ash e.t.c.
  2. TBH in the long run I think Matt is more reliable and dependable. Your already seeing the chinks in their relationship, clearly very different personalities here. Their lack of compatibility and commonlarities, are becoming apparent. I just think their relationship is running its natural progression, and running its course imo. So naturally no matter what anyone says Maddie is starting to outgrow Oscar, but like I said that is not a bad thing, I think they are better as friends then lovers. So I agree above the dependency is one way now, and so Maddie keeps developing I am all for a fresh, new relationship with someone who arguably compliments her more then even Spencer did. I always felt Maddie felt sorry for Oscar, then he really became special for her, because he was the one guy who never gave up on her. So I always think Maddie well love Oscar, but they say if you love something or someone, set it free haha. In terms of character development, Matt is maturing into a caring, young man. But he also has an edge to his character, that well compliment the next phase in Maddies life perfectly. I get the concept of Oscar being more reliable, but I don't think that is a good enough reason to be with someone. It reminds me of Kirsty choosing Miles over Kane, because he was more safe. Kane was the love of her life! It is obsurd, Matt and Maddie could have something special potentially, so I think it is risk over reward.
  3. I think Maddy has struggled to be consistent with relationships, for lack of balance. I think the fact Matt shares the same passion as Maddy does, music. There is a chance for more balance in her life, while still progressing like she has done all year. I do think there is an unfair characterization of Matt going on here. What, are we taking shots at the actor now? Oscar has had a stable upbringing, even in the cult at least he was sheltered. I kinda get the feeling some are againgst a female In this show hooking up with a River Boy. So maybe less to do with Matt/Alec, but everything he represents. And I kinda understand that. I got sick of females been buried by getting romantically involved with River Boys. Ruby, Bianca, Tamara, April e.t.c. Thank God Indi never got with a River Boy. But I kinda think Matt is becoming an exception. He has become fully integrated into their family, and you're seeing a different side to him. He had developed a nice friendship with Josh and Evie especially. So I think his character's identity is changing, from bad boy River Boy, to fully functional teenage boy. So hypothetically speaking, I don't see any issue of Maddie and Oscar breaking up, if Maddie dates Matt who has already integrated into her life. And contrived as it maybe, shown to be more compatible, and have far better chemistry between the actors. I don't think the idea of Matt being not believable is due to poor casting, or bad acting (surprised at that comment, IMO Alec is the strongest young male actor on the show). A lot of the teenagers on the show are portrayed by actors in their twenties. I mean the idea of say me dating Kassandra Clementi, is unrealistic :(. Haha so my point is a lot of the show is not believable. But if the actors possess compatibility and chemistry in their characterization I think in the long run it is going to benefit both Maddie and Matt. So while in the short run it may well rock the boat, I think so Maddie can get that balance in her life, and not get stagnant, it is an important development imo. Like some said Maddie and Oscar share a dependability with each other. He was her rock, he broke up with her because she had cancer. Then he brought her back from the city, but now she is entering a new phase in her life. It is realistic she will outgrow Oscar. That is not necessarily a bad thing. A lot of couples particularly teen couples in this show, have broken up, and been better as friends. This may be the case too, just my two cents. I wasn't telling anyone how to form their own opinion, I was just saying perspective can change if your biased to certain characters.
  4. Funny I have always seen Matt as a more serious character then Oscar. How do you define a character to be beleiavble? Because you don't like one? Lol. People or me wanting Matt and Maddie as a couple, has nothing to do with him being more exciting or less believable as a character. It is based on pure chemistry, and compatiability. You see it all the time in home and away eventually a girl well outgrow a guy, no matter who it is. It doesn't matter if its Matt or its Oscar, or anyone it happens. I Think it is an unfair characterization of Matt, Oscar ain't any less believable then Matt is. I personally find Matt more believable as a character, based on the hardships he and Maddie have experienced. I think their is an opportunity to progress Matt and Maddie, through their interest in music. I just think in the long run Oscar well cause Maddie to become stilted and stagnant, I don't want that for her. That is just my two cents. I'll say this again, anyone can twist things to suit their pre-conceived notions, or who they ship. And I think Matt and Maddie well eventually get together, clearly the writers won't forget Matt's feelings, I think it well end with Maddie falling into Matt's arms, and I Guess their is nothing any of us can do about that either way haha.
  5. Well I woulden't consider Matt an idiot lol. I don't think it is suggested that Maddie needs to on a thrill ride with Matt. Matt and Maddie imo would be no different to Oscar, it is just I agree with the sentiment Matt would be more compatible with Maddie, now she is entering a different phase in her life (people forget Matt and Maddie were a thing before Oscar, kinda like Romeo and Ruby). TBH Oscar would be the idiot boyfriend before Matt lol. Either way whatever anyone's point of view. Matt and Maddie are getting together it is inevitable tbh. I mean it has been said, it is a fact Maddie well outgrow Oscar. His role in her life was like above said a Rock, their was a co-dependency with each other. So whether or not who you prefer Maddie with haha, I think this is an inevitable reality.
  6. Same logic applies for Maddie and Oscar too. Just because one may like their interaction, does not mean they should be a couple. Some have suggested Maddie well probably outgrow Oscar. Now this is not a basis for her and Matt, but it is a valid factor. Irony is Oscar was always in the friend zone with Maddie, even when they got together it still felt forced and awkward between them, even now. Even though Matt and Maddie are not a couple, their scenes feel natural too me. Just my two cents.
  7. ^ You make some valid points, and I generally agree with all of them. But I think things have changed for Maddie and Oscar since they got back together. Maddie realized what was in front of her the whole time Oscar, so she realized she was mistreating him. I think Oscar has been good for her, and been a big part of her maturity. I guess Maddie is more interesting when shes being a brat haha, but personally I enjoy this Maddie more. A Maddie who actually is the adult in her relationship with Roo, a strike contrast to the Maddie last year, who would sneak out to be with Josh. A guy like Oscar was a big part of her evolution. And besides Oscar and Maddie slept together properly, and I Thought that was nice. But other then that, it does feel like Oscar is in the friendzone most of the time. With Matt it does feel fresh, and it does seem they are better suited, and I enjoy Kassandra and Alec's chemistry, but whether or not this well lead to them getting together remains to be see. I guess you could say, Maddie and Oscar was never built on some longing or desire, or any amount of bond or chemistry from Maddie's point of view. Their is a dependency between them. Where as potentially Matt and Maddie is more fresh, and a bit more desire their. Either way its clearly leading to a love triangle, where I believe Maddie well eventually fall into Matt's arms, hopefully her development continues with Matt either way.
  8. Well it is kinda a stereotype or trope from fans to say a Braxton Guy or characters cannot develop. Or doesen't have the Background complex necessary. While in the past has not worked say they should of stuck with Liam and Bianca, or Annie and Jai e.t.c. I find it more interesting that way personally. Like they say opposites attract, and while Matt and Maddie are from opposite sides of the tracks, and agree is like snobby girl still matured, and the bad boy. Matt is kinda becoming Oscar and Casey all rolled into one lol, so their is a balance their I like personally. And while Maddie and Matt do have contrasting backgrounds. They are also similar in the fact they are essentially both Foster kids. Oscar and Evie sorta, but at least they have their Uncle and Aunty. Matt and Maddie have no immediate family. But I guess if your a fan of a couple, one well twist it no matter what to put Catergory A and Category B in a good light, and the other in a dimmed one. I guess imo with Oscar and Maddie, I don't see the chemistry. With Kassandra and Alec, have tons of chemistry. So in terms of chemistry I Think their is more potential to be explored, also a possibility they are more suited and have more commonlarities. I like the idea of them bonding over music, But that is just me, Oscar feels like he is still in the friendzone most of the time lol. but maybe that is just his character, or they haven't given Maddie and Oscar enough screen time to develop, of course he scored in one of Matt's caravans :P. But like I said, I don't think this is a good enough reason to break up Oscar and Maddie, Maddie still has not shown any signs (yet) that she sees Matt romantically, even if their is potential their. I guess to you could compare Matt and Maddie to Aden and Nicole. That didn't work out of course lol, and Nicole eventually found an Oscar type in Angelo, didn't see her ending up with Angelo coming haha. But point is, does not mean it cannot ever work out with a Matt and Maddie dynamic. To me more chemistry is a better substitute for sustainability. But either way I don't really mind, I like Oscar and Maddie together, I am fine with Matt and Maddie as just friends. Problem is I can't not see Matt's supressed feelings being forgotten by the writers, it is leading somewhere, most likely a love triangle of sorts.
  9. Well I guess the point is, is one impartial? lol. Anyway, I don't find Matt immature. I have always found him to be quite mature, especially with how he is was with his little sister. Got to understand he has no sense of family, and I feel Maddie had this same issue. Matt getting with Charlotte to me seeing she is an older women, in a way is very mature lol, but that is neither here or their. I think Matt and Oscar have different personalities, but that's all that is different. Matt is in a different place then he was before Sasha. IMO I see the same situation as Hannah and Chris. While Chris suits Hannahs sensibilities, and while the notion of a nice guy maturing Hannah, and not going back to the bad boy is a nice thought. Eventually a girl like Hannah is going to outgrow a guy like Chris, same way a girl like Maddie well outgrow a guy like Oscar, no matter how good he is for her. It is unfortunate but that is life, and H and A is good at depicting that.
  10. To be fair i know ppl keep harping on Oscar good for Maddie, because hes a nice guy. But hes not flawless as a character. And while Matt can sometimes be a jerk, his treatment of Maddie was not a representation of a bad characteristic, or an insight into how matt and maddie would be as a couple. He was supressing and repressing his feelings. But just shows the differences in personalities. Like Evie said, Matts like an 8 yr old hitting the girl.in the playpen, when it comes to courtship. And i think its pure speculation to say M and M would be forced and unnatural. Only difference is Maddie has not been given the option of Matt. What was forced was Evie trying to set them up. My point is i think Matt and Maddie are more suited, and have more commonlarities. And i dont think Maddie well degress if she becomes Romantically involved with Matt hypothetically speaking. Quite the opposite. They could be good for each other, and i like the idea of them bonding over music. Either way i have no problem with Maddie and Oscar, like i said hes good for her, so if Maddie and Matt remain friends good :P. And i understand i was and still am in a way a big Leonard and Penny fan, they worked out though, and are now married living together. So i guess im trying to say if your a fan of a couple, trust the writers haha.
  11. I actually think Maddie and Oscar have chemistry as friends or brother and sister. IT nailed it for me, when Matt and Maddie had this big fight, and it felt like Oscar was an outsider, and was Maddie's gay friend lol or brother, and Matt and Maddie were a couple having a fight. While I like Maddie and Oscar, he is good for her. I actually agree their interests in music could really create something special between Matt and Maddie, some common ground, and mutual understanding. Watch this space.
  12. Just wanted to bump this thread, as Billie is returning seen in the gym in a later episode. I am thrilled as I loved Billie, yeah she had her issues. But unlike most female characters with Phoebe, she has a lot of layers to her character. And I found her story compelling. I think it seems a pre-requisite in this show a character to be redeemable needs to be nice. Not necessarily all people are nice in life. But it turned out Billie wasen't being mean for the sake of it, she had a lot of deep seeded psychological issues, and abandonment issues. Due to the fact guess what her big bro Ash could of prevented lol. Looking forward to her returning.
  13. It doesn't matter who you are no one likes Phoebee and Ash, as there is no authenticity to them. None of there scenes share depth, its too superficial. I think the only way they can salvage Phoebe and Ash is breaking them up, and get them back to there pre-dispositions.
  14. Well apparently in last nights episode he showed remorse with Marilyn. And I think the way he is, is because of abandonment issues, his Grandfather dieing, his father not being there e.t.c. I like Hunter he is interesting, like Billie has layers to his character the other teenagers don't have. But the issue in casting 20 year olds, is they are beyond the level of maturity. They hit a certain age and want to pursue other projects. If they casted younger actors like Jet, they would stay around longer, and character development and story development would be better.
  15. I know her character thread is kinda inactive. But does the Maddie/Oscar/Matt storyline or dynamic remind anyone of say robbie/kim/tash or romeo/annie/jai?. Just maddie and oscar feel like good friends with.romantic potential, but almost brother and sister. Maddie and Matt feel more chemistry for me.
  16. Oh seriousley Light of the Bay, i enjoy your views mostly. But give it a rest re Lucy and Older Characters lol. H and A has always been known for pretty young characters. Its been the foundation of the show since the late nineties. As were the older characters. Although ive always found it quite shallow and superficial on this show all the characters are extremely beautiful. Not complaining ala indi/april heh. But its not always realistic. But the show doesent need older characters, thats prejudice. It needs a better balance between.the two. As for.Hunter, hes just some bad guy who well come good, have a cry lol so predictable.
