I like Kyle and I hope he becomes the next Aden and becomes a regular.

Does anyone think Harvey would be better off going out with Leah instead off Roo? It might of make him more likeable as he sees VJ as second chance, as he failed with his son.
-
Wow, that's an interesting idea. If he fathered a child soon after leaving SB they wouldn't be much younger than VJ, then they could return in only around 5 years as he joins the real teen group. Really? Brax? Brax has the potential to make Leah happy? Brax the drug-dealing, gangster with ongoing severe emotional problems following the shooting of his girlfriend - in Leah's house? He's probably the least likely man in the world to make anyone happy, and you think he's a match for Leah? I agree that she still has potential, and apart from any relationship with Brax, your suggestions are very valid. When VJ really becomes old enough to be considered part of the teen group I think we'll see some real development of Leah as a character (I hope we will). I wouldn't completely write her off, I'm just saying that currently the writers aren't taking advantage of her true potential. But you have to understand that she will probably be in the background next year and I think by 2014 she will be the centre of storylines again.

Leah Patterson/Baker - Ada Nicodemou

But don't forget that Romeo and Liam were living in Leah's house and probably paying buckless rent! So the least they can do is not start problems in the house. I think its time to bring in a new guy who's a single dad with two teen kids for Leah, and I reckon that will give Leah something to bounce off from. -
Hopefully Marilyn gets storyline soon!.

I agree Colleen can been a bully at times. But she can also show a caring side.
-
You said that perfectly. Does anyone think Pippa was the most talked about recast in any tv/movie history? Debra, however, made the most touching scenes and my favourite quote ever on H&A is when she said to Sally, "Leaving Summer Bay was the hardest thing I ever had to do." However, I do think Vanessa would have nailed that line as well. But I think once you accept that it's the same character then you get used to Debra playing her.

and I wouldn't blame others for following after the treatment their characters have received this year. Personally, I'm over the shallow, repetative and totally unbelievable Chax and River Boys storylines and would prefer more time devoted to characters like Irene but next year I just know I'll continue to be disappointed and will be as long as Cam and Co are in love with Chax and the River Boys and promoting criminals as sexy and exciting instead of actually mirroring society (which according to Cam is the aim of the show) with realistic storylines that people can actually relate to - how many people will be involved in gangs or be victims of gangs? These men are criminals, so I can't relate in any way with them, nor do I have any desire to relate to their selfish, corrupt way of life. Dont worry, I don't see Lynne leaving anytime soon as she always talks so postively about the show. I personally perfer Irene just being there as a support character because she is a Summer Bay icon.

But please don't forget they might very well have been asked to return but Norman might not feel up to returning as he's even older than Lyn Collingwood.
-
Because Bec, the original Hayley, had to leave to have a baby and they needed to finish the storyline off.
-
Yeah but I do like a more mature Marilyn as they can use her in a motherly or wisdom role. Because even Colleen is becoming a more serious person and they seem to respect her lot more and not making her look dumb.

John Palmer - Shane Withington
j.laur5 replied to CharmedKylie's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I agree with you. I've said before that Palmer reminds me of the old Alf (which I guess is the young Alf). I loved Alf when he used to act all high and mighty and seemed to think that running the only general store in town gave him the right to act as the King of his own tiny little empire and boss everyone around. Palmer reminds me of that guy. Even at his absolute worst, I never saw him as "OMG what a terrible guy" but more of a weasel who enjoyed throwing his weight around. Not to mention that Alf was a pretty terrible parent to Duncan in a very similar way to Palmer was with Trey and no one seems to hold that against him. I agree and agree with these points. Duncan was very out of control. -
John Palmer - Shane Withington

No way. Alf is the backbone of the show and a year ago John was hated. Give me Alf anyday over John. Even if Alf is in his worst mood, I'd rather him. -
I have always been a Gina fan. But I have noticed the producers are doing a much better job with her character.

on the other side - 50+, I suppose - well, I hope. I am tired that H&A is so unrealistic when it comes to age, everybody seem to have children at the age of 14.... Hugo was meant to be around 30... Menopause is more realistic when it comes to Gina. My mother was in her menopause when she was 46, and a lot of women are at that age. A baby at 47 is really uncommon, well one of my grandmothers was 45, but that is also very very old. You are supposed to be an old mother when you give birth after 35. Hugo was lot younger than the actor that was playing him.

No Roman is in his mid 30s. He had Nicole at the age of 16 and Roman must been youngest granddad.

Irene getting new storyline? I wonder what it is. I missed Irene when she went away to the UK and I always find it lovely how when Lynne goes on promo every 2 years and when she is interviewed she always talks so postively and is so devoted to Home and Away. I could not believe my ears when I heard someone say that Irene should get axed I know she may not have biggest storylines all the time but she is the backbone and heart of the show and I like having characters who are just being themselves and like being a supporting character.

14. Charlie was born in 1979 and Ruby was born in 1993.
-
When has she been a bully?
-
Why did they move Leah's house Location and it stitl looks the same house?.
-
Does anyone think Charlie will become a mainstay character like Leah/Irene?

, what are you going to do with her? She's got no job, not many friends, and while she hasn't exactly shone as a parent figure for Indi and Dex, I'm not sure it would be improved by having her hang around the caravan park not really doing anything, which is mainly what happened until she and Sid got together.I think that would actually make the caravan park seem like a dumping ground for characters who don't fit in anywhere else again after they did start to seem like a family last year, . I disagree with every word. Marilyn is friends with Irene, Leah, Gina, Colleen (sort of). And she runs the Juice Bar. I think it's time she moved back in with Irene and that they have some storylines together. And I think she doing a pretty good job with Dexter and Indi and she doesn't want to be acting too much like their Mum. Was the "sort of" for everyone or just Colleen?I can't remember her exchanging more than the most basic of pleasantries with Leah or Gina and Irene only just squeezes in because they were friends 15 years ago. She's spent more time with the likes of Miles, Nicole, Alf or Angelo than a random bunch of women over 30.To be fair, though, you could say that about most HA characters, they all seem to have one or two friends at best. Not sure if she's still working at the juice bar or not, probably not, John seems to be running it and she mentioned earlier in the year her fortune telling business had failed. I accept Marilyn's done a pretty good job with Dex, maybe more so than Sid.Not so sure about Indi, she doesn't seem to have the same close big sister-type relationship with her that she did with Nicole and her advice has been a bit oft kilter. Moving her in with Irene would be as good/bad an idea as moving her into the caravan park house but it suffers the same problem that it would be hard to create a family feeling about the household and just make it seem like a random collection of characters living together. I mean she's starting to be sort of friends with her [Colleen].

^ which is precicely why I hated this storyline from the second Nicole told Marilyn "I'm pregnant." Because it was obvious what was coming - and there's only one way a storyline like this can play out, and I knew what it meant for Marilyn. Maybe I'm just naive but it really didn't occur to be that Marilyn would try to get her hands on the baby.I assumed she'd just be a supportive friend to Nicole, which she actually seemed to be fairly good at last year. Then I read the spoilers for premiere week and thought "You have got to be joking."My hatred for Marilyn pretty much kicked in then and hasn't really abated. The thing is...if you split Marilyn and Sid up , what are you going to do with her? She's got no job, not many friends, and while she hasn't exactly shone as a parent figure for Indi and Dex, I'm not sure it would be improved by having her hang around the caravan park not really doing anything, which is mainly what happened until she and Sid got together.I think that would actually make the caravan park seem like a dumping ground for characters who don't fit in anywhere else again after they did start to seem like a family last year, . What episode number is when the whole town thought Alf and Colleen were getting married? Thanks. I could do with a laugh.

Her fun side returned last night and Marilyn should maybe break with Sid if it means her fun character will return. But I like family unit and Marilyn is like a mother to the kids. I don't want Ruth to be ruined after Geogie has made Ruth great character with out being a cow.
