My dd rang last night to tell me that I've got a new fan card through the post. He didn't open it but he's forwarded it to my uni address so I'm hoping to get it through sometime today or tomorrow. The funny thing is he said it was coming from Singapore. Could that be something to do with a post sorting office that the cast use like Dan was saying he other day? I'm having trouble guessing who it's going to be from and I can't wait to open it! I'm awaiting replies from a lot of the cast at the moment and also from some Neighbours cast members. I'm hoping it's from Jordan Smith aka Andrew Robinson in Neighbours. But obviously I'll be pleased no matter who it's from!

jldraw, idn't it easy to tell whether the card's a fake or not? Does the colour look streaky or is it perfect? If you can't tell I woud say the likelihood is that it's real. I doubt they'd have that good a printer that the copies look identical.

I don't really mind Geoff/Jeff? that much. But I do think he's a total stereotype and teachers like that just don't exist today. It's funny watching the show back how much you realise that times have changed. I'm loving Bobby at the moment. Her banter with Steven has been a good watch. I'm not too bothered about the Floss/Neville stuff, you can tell that the writers are struggling to think of storylines for them already. It was nice to see Ben again, but I'm not a fan of Scott, and the actress that played his wife Anna was terrible.

Yeah, I hope I get one soon. It's just the luck of the draw I guess. If they like your letter they reply, if they don't, they don't. And then obviously there'sthe possibility they may ot have read it. I'm waiting for Axle to reply too. Luke's good with fan mail so I'm sure you'll get one from him.

Those are beautiful Jamie! I'm now imagining you charming angels out of the sky... I wrote to Rebecca in September. I hope I get a reply soon.

Discussion of episodes 81-85. Enjoying the early years eps, although I admit I did find it strange when Frank told Roo that he would marry her if it was true that she was carrying his child. It's difficult to remember that this probably was the reality in 1988 when single mums were frowned upon but now it seems really strange. Is anyone else surprised that no-one has asked Roo about Brett and whether she slept with him? I guess they wouldn't expect her to be so manipulative, but surely Frank would suspect it considering she told him a few weeks ago how she prefers "real men" where she is at boarding school now.

Scans scans scans!! You certainly must talk the talk Jamie, you seem to get replies well ! How long ago did you write to her?

Did anyone else notice how Melissa Bell (Lucy Robinson 3, Neighbours) was a random extra in episode 79, in the scenes with Carly, Mr. Foley etc.? Quite amusing that the Buchanan girl and Melissa are both extras in these scenes, then a few years later are both involved in an incest storyline in Neighbours.

What a b*****d. I just had a look at that fan card being sold. I can't believe someone is ripping people off. I take it you contacted ebay with the problem?
-
How much did you pay for them if you don't mind me asking?
-
You never know, maybe someone from the set on H and A fancies a bit of extra cash and is nabbing a bunch of everyone's fan cards to sell online.

I've just had a major catch-up with about the last 6 episodes. I've also been very impressed with the storyline between Pippa and Danny. I think it's a very mature aspect of the show to link storylines to serious events in history, such as the World and Vietnam wars, and how the tsunami was worked in to Miles' backstory. It made it all the more emotionlal to know that there would be people out there who felt the same way that Danny did. It was also top-notch acting from all involved, particularly the actor that plays/played Danny. The dynamic between Danny and Pippa was perfect and they seemed very realisitc as siblings, even if in real life the actors couldn't have been anywhere near a similar age. (I swear that guy must have been at least 20 years older than Vanessa!) I've also really enjoyed getting to know a bit more about Celia. It's so sad that she was so in love with Les, and has never found anyone to share her life with since. I also thought it was very clever how they worked her Christian beliefs into the story by her refusing to sleep with Les the night before he went away. It made it all the more tragic. However, top notch work writers!

I was surprised to find out the other day that Gerard returned to the role in 2005 when Martha returned to the Bay. I assumed (having got back into the show from the 06 season onwards) that H and A didn't really give a crap about things like continuity but I was impressed that Brett returned. I've always found it strange that Roo has never returned. It would be the perfect time what with Martha back in the Bay, but Justine Clarke is doing that children's show these days. Hsving said that you'd think she'd jump at the chance of returning to Home and Away because surely it pays a lot higher? Though I suppose the hours on a children's show are pretty good, plus she did sound hugely enthusiastic about he job when I read an interview with her the other day. I know what you mean about Sandra, but I still don't see why they couldn't have kept them on longer and made them (except Barlow) permanent characters. The cast was ridiculously small, I just don't get why they'd create a whole family of guest characters. Mind you, they haven't kicked the habit because they did it once again last year with the Walkers.

I'm starting to wonder where they're gonna take Floss and Neville from here, now that the storyline with Scott and Ben is over. They seem to be dragging it out, but if they're gonna make the story go on any further I'd rather have an appearance from Ben. As for ep 2855, I find it rather bizarre that Pippa mentions Sandra when it was obviously then Debra portraying the character and almost ten years later, I think if I had been watching I'd feel like it was some sort of parallel universe. I also liked the character of Sandra Ryan, but I do think tptb made the right decision to not extend the character any further. I've enjoyed the plot apart from getting frustrated with Kerry at parts, I do think it was a waste to do it with a guest family though, I think they could have casted a bit more carefully, although Sam, Kerry and Sandra were believable as a family unit in terms of looks.

I'm pretty sure you just do the same thing any other person writing to the cast would do. Same address etc. They'll hav the pre-paid envelopes themselves. Do let us know if you get a response. I'm sure knowing you come from Norway Esther would definitely reply.

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to see that episode (2855). I don't really get the point of it. What's the point in focusing so heavily on the guest cast and then once the audience finally empathise with the characters, whisk them away? I can see why though considering Catherine McColl-Jones was never really that strong an actress, but had they cast someone better in the role I think I would have been slightly annoyed.

Thanks for the info Dan F. It's interesting that they would mention her after over ten years of not mentioning her. I wonder if she ever got married and had children. Perhaps a return is in order? ;)

Hi, I was wondering what episode Morag first appears in? Thanks in advance.

Wow, the Early Years episodes really are getting juicy! I can't believe Kerry was the one who got shot and subsequently died. Throughout this storyline I've been wanting to throw things at the screen because Kerry has just let herself be treated so badly. I've found it quite difficult to get into the story because I've found it difficult to empathise with Kerry; she was clearly being treated badly and then tricked Sandra into coming home. I think part of the reason it's so difficult is because over the last 22 years the role of women in society has changed a hell of a lot and it is perhaps easier these days for women to go out to work on their own and not rely on their husbands. I think it was unfair of the writers to make Kerry die. I was looking forward to her getting a bit of happiness once Sam was out of the picture but it never happened. I suppose it was necessary for her to die to allow a strong message to be portrayed to the audience about domestic violence. I thought it was mighty strange that Ailsa thought Barlow should have gone to the funeral. He's caused Kerry so much pain over the years obviously and ended up being the cause of her death (even if it was a mistake) I would have thought someone in Ailsa's position would have thought that he could rot in hell. The plot where Sandra couldn't cry - I don't know if this is cruel but I assumed it was because the actress isn't the strongest in the world and I was proved right at the cliffhanger. I was also hooked when the SB Nutter rang up the house phone. I'm so glad I've avoided finding out who he/she is because it's going to be a complete surpriuse. Does anyone know if Catherine McColl-Jones (Sandra) is still acting?

Home and Away passes on fanmail to actors even after they've left, so you can still write to him via that address.
