Oops, sorry, I forgot. I was too busy on Friday rushing off line so I could find out who'd been evicted in Big Brother. story last updated: 3 June -
OMG, you know how to make me cry, don't you? Excellent fic!
-
So glad that she isn't coming across as the selfish and evil adulteress (if that's a word?) becuase when I was writing it I was kinda concerned that KK would come off as the bad guys No, it's easy to feel sympathy with everyone. Well, everyone except Max.

I had tears in my eyes through most of that chapter . Brilliant writing!
-
It's a complete mystery why only one other person has written a review for this fic. It's written superbly.

They had been swiftly thrown out of the restaurant after the scene that Max had caused, <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'll update this after the weekend. Sorry for the delay, the chapter is all written and I've even begun the following one, but if I post too soon I sort of put myself under pressure time wise. -
Wow, you have amazing writing talent! I know I've said it before, but I'll say it again - absolutely love these fics, Ashirr-Leigh, you've got me totally hooked!
-
Nice chapter, Claire. The only thing I didn't like is please get rid of Max. I mean, I know he's all grown up now, but I always loathed his character, there never was a kid so unlike a kid. Apart from that, enjoyed reading!

Nicely written fic.

Wowww, thanks for those superb reviews!!! I'm always moaning I don't get enough time to write, but I take far too many breaks whenever I do get the time like deciding to phone someone, making cups of tea, coming on this site... But I promise I'll try and do some more work soon! -
I have to agree with Claire, this is my favourite story out of your fics. But, having said that, I love all your fics, they're written so well and you make me care so much about the characters.

The story so far:- Ron Wilson arrives at the Phillps? isolated house where Scott Phllips is holding Kirsty and Jamie at knifepoint. However, Jamie is traumatised and, taking advantage of Scott?s distraction, flees in confusion to the dangerous, crumbling cliffs, hoping to be able to see his Dad?s ship. Kirsty tries to follow, but she?s broken her ankle in trying to push Scott away and can only watch helplessly as both Scott and Ron tear after her son... Feeling unable to cope with the guilt if Kane dies, Melanie returns and accidentally reveals that she has dug up the rucksack they buried all those years ago. She agrees to help Kane return it to Scott so that Kirsty and Jamie will be safe. But Melanie was once a victim of rape herself and, aware of Kane?s past, her offer of help is reluctant - she could change her allegiance any time... It looks like help is on hand when Jamie sees Dani out on the cliffs, but, incredibly, Dani ignores him and walks away... Okay, just one more chapter to re-post now and I?ll finally update at the weekend! -

Thanks! I'm up to where I had to start splitting chapters because they were getting too long so I have two more chapters to rewrite and re-post then, with any luck, I should have a brand new chapter up some time around the weekend. -

Thanks! I felt the same way when I read your review. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> OMG, that souned so big-headed! I meant to say I felt the same way about your review! -
Ha, I'm not getting anything done today for reading fanfics but, just like this one, they're all so brilliant! Love that Dani and Scott are getting back together, let's hope Kane gets some good news soon too.
-
Aww, this story is sooo sad... Sean sounds nice, Claire. Let's hope he meets someone just as nice when Kirsty (how can she help it?) falls back in love with Kane...
-
Ryan, that's the second time I've known you to make a comment about a Kane/Kirsty fic (I remember you writing one about Wanda's fic once) . I'm beginning to suspect you're a secret Kane/Kirsty fan... Intriguing start, Claire, love your writing style.
-
I sooo loved that final chapter! I was crying, it was such a lovely ending. Hope you write more fics, thoroughly enjoyed reading the ones you've done so far.
-
That was another great chapter, Ashirr-Leigh, you've got everyone's emotions spot on.

The story so far:- Kane has agreed to help Scott in exchange for Scott keeping his dark secret and by cover of night he heads for the old church. However, Jesse MacGregor unwittingly interrupts and, with a police patrol car closely watching them both, Kane is unable to keep his promise to dig up the stolen fortune. Desperate to protect his family, Kane has told them nothing and next day his birthday starts happily enough with a phone call from Tasha (now modelling in Paris). Dani has gone to wish Kirsty luck on her first day teacher training at Summer Bay Primary but at the last minute she freezes when she sees Kane and Kirsty kissing and the memories of the rape flood back. Kane drops Kirsty and Jamie off at school then fronts up to Scott who pulls a gun. The gun turns out to be fake, but in the fight that follows Scott knocks Kane unconscious. Kirsty has become friends with sympathetic Ron Wilson, an elderly teacher at Summer Bay Primary who once taught Kane and Scott. When Kane doesn?t turn up to collect them after school as arranged and one of Summer Bay?s sudden storm threatens, Ron offers to drop them off. The car almost crashes into Colleen Smart, but fortunately Ron manages to swerve at the last minute. Meanwhile, unaware of who the other is and that they both know Kane, Melanie and Dani happen to meet outside the Summer Bay surgery. In an emotional conversation, they learn that they have both been victims of rape and agree that a ?sicko rapist? should be left to die. Thinking Melanie is still with Kane, Scott goes to dig up the treasure himself. Furious to find it gone and knowing Kane was the only other person who saw where it was buried, he decides to pay Kirsty and Jamie a visit. Unable to shake off a growing sense of unease and unable to phone Kane because the phone lines are down in the storm, Kirsty is alone with Jamie in their isolated house... Thanks for your really nice comments. Just four more chapters to post after tonight?s, then I?ll FINALLY post a new chapter! The story so far:- Kane is still unconscious and unable to help his family. However, Ron Wilson tells Colleen he?s worried about Kirsty and Jamie being alone now a ferocious storm has hit Summer Bay and he decides to go back. But will he get there in time? Scott has forced his way into the isolated house and is holding Kirsty and her son at knifepoint. So far Kirsty has managed to keep him talking but Scott refuses to believe that she knows nothing about the hidden fortune and is fast losing patience. Jade, who has been suffering from increasingly frequent dizzy spells and breathlessness, finally confides in Rhys and Shelley that she believes she may have inherited the fatal heart condition of the de Groot family. Finding she can?t cope with the horrific memories of her rape any longer, Dani has walked up to the cliff-top and is about to jump...
