I liked John & Dean’s little interaction about Jai, it was definitely foreshadowing something but it was a good little character scene. Irene & Leah sorting out Rose & Xander was lovely, real old school Summer Bay. I did get my hopes up though when Leah was talking to Justin about the people coming and going from the bay and welcoming people in that she was going to suggest fostering, but no she wanted to invite the band for dinner.

Were Daria’s house/what became James’/Sally & Flynn’s etc… and Travis & Rebecca’s/Chloe & Lachie’s apartment ever on screen at the same time? I’ve just watched this clip and realised that the kitchen of the apartment is what would become kitchen of that house - the back wall complete with tiles and window dressing, the stove (relocated) was reused etc… The sofa too, but makes sense if that moved with Chloe.

How did Xander know to go to the back door of the Beach House? I wonder if Irene has a sign up. I thought that too!!

Great to see Leah back. Lockdown/Home schooling seems to have treated Ada well, she looks great.

Is Lifeline a suicide prevention helpline? Roo’s reaction to Ryder admitting he’d called them seemed quite calm, I’d have thought she’d have been more concerned.

To be honest, none of the scheduling has made sense for a while. Neighbours was on 5 at 5.30pm, 5STAR at 6pm, and 5+1 at 6.30pm. I wonder if they found Neighbours at 6pm on 5STAR was rating more than Home and Away at 6pm on 5 and switched. It will hopefully consolidate some of the viewers.

I wonder if they’ll put Neighbours on 5STAR at 5.30pm so they still have that hour for those who don’t watch the first look and an hour for those who do and are used to switching channels between.

I guess they’ve been considering this a while with 5STAR being in the correct blocks. I think they said Eggheads will air at 7pm, so I wonder what will be on at 6.30pm on Channel 5?

It makes sense, ratings aren’t great and in the new world of streaming, timeshift etc… airing the same episode twice a day on the same channel seems very outdated, just hopefully it doesn’t have a negative effect on Neighbours. I watch the first look anyway.

Sadly this has seemed to have happened with a few ex-Home and Away actors and ends any hope of success in the US they may have had.

I noticed that, but had put it down to them being part of the Surf Club “Family” - John typically has scenes with Mac, Willow and Dean, so if you take Willow out then Jasmine steps in so it makes sense. Overall I just think that it’s a lack of their usual scene partners: For Jasmine you also have her trying to give Tori space and Colby in prison. John & Marilyn are being kept apart, the SBH residents are tied up in the Kieran story and Mac & Dean are tied up with Colby & the Paratas.

I really don’t understand why Kieran isn’t Alf’s son, it would make the story more interesting in my opinion.

I think so, although we’re still brushing over Alf marrying Ailsa (twice) despite knowing Martha was still alive.

I really hope Martha puts her own stamp on Summer Bay House, the art department have gradually changed the dining table and chairs - they painted the legs of the dining table to match the kitchen cabinets and now have bought chairs to match, that looks great now, although that table is huge. They really need to replace those awful red walls - even if the living room is quite a close colour to the interior of the real house.

I assume Martha & Roo bought new dining chairs in Yabbie Creek.

Why does only one table in the diner have a tablecloth/runner? It’s also the Diner equivalent of the Central Park sofa, it’s the senior cast table, Alf, Roo, Martha etc... who often occupy it all day with one cup of tea or coffee.

I must admit, I’m quite enjoying seeing Colby’s World gradually fall apart. It’s a shame, I liked the idea of him being a cop getting away from the River Boy World but they’ve given him the reverse of the typical River Boy story - the good River Boy gone bad.

I couldn’t help thinking during Alf & Martha’s argument, what’s keeping Alf in the Bay really, his businesses manage without him 6 months of the year anyway on and off.

I’m not sure what the point of bringing back Angelo to fill this generic cop role, aside from him getting information out of Irene which might have happened anyway, his history in the bay hasn’t really been brought up. I was expecting at least something Martha related... I don’t know whose side I’m meant to be on in Angelo vs Colby but they’re both coming out of this pretty badly.
