It seems Irene hasn't been kept up to date with everything that had been happening in her absence.  I'm trying to remember  if she went into rehab before or after Flick's death.🤔

Irene left for rehab on the same day that Flick later collapsed (though it was an episode apart for us).

The show's been slightly schizophrenic on the subject - one minute Leah's talking as though she's been visiting Irene regularly, the next she claims she hasn't seen her in months - but given that Irene's been invited to Tane and Harper's wedding, I'd say she's been kept up to date on at least the major events in Summer Bay.Anyway, it was nice to see Dana showing her caring side with Irene, but it seems like Leah's not the only one in two minds.Last week, Irene seemed to be listening to John more than anyone, yet suddenly she doesn't want him anywhere near her.I know she snapped at him last time she saw him but it still seems out of the blue.Is she embarrassed?

I wasn't sure if Mali was being oversensitive about Abby hanging around all the time or not, but she did admit she was struggling to trust him, so. Anyway, at least she's doing something proactive about it in keeping a bit of distance from him, and it helps solve the staffing crisis caused by Xander's departure.Mackenzie and Levi having everyone walk in on their "catch-up" was good comedy.I would have liked to have seen the reactions to Eden taking Cash home, but unfortunately her housemates aren't in the episode.

It did seem to come out of the blue that Leah and John had been visiting Irene as neither of them mentioned how she was doing previously, seems  they used to ring ahead.  I'm wildly guessing her but I'm thinking it was only pretty recently she was able to have visitors or wanted to see people. When Leah went into rehab she wasn't allowed any contact from the outside world right away, it may be  a 'rule'  they impose so the patient can adjust to their new environment.🤔   Didn't the same thing happen when Brody went into rehab?

I do know why  Irene is avoiding John but after my last spoiler blunder I'm saying nuffin. 🤐🤫🙊 Not sure who was more startled when  Dana came home and found  Irene sitting on the sofa, she must have been tired after her shift but stayed up with her all night. Not surprising she had trouble   keeping up with Irene when she was doing her walk/run on the beach. Good idea by the gang of three of setting Irene  new routines - I suggested that - did 😆 when Irene came out of the loo and they all shut up - obvious sign they were talking about her.  Irene was very gung ho about all these things she's planning, she'll be wearing them out.  If Roo wasn't caught up with looking after Eliza she'd be there organising  everything.  Was she ever into fishing because Alf could be roped in to take the load off them.   Hope we see Irene and Bree meet up as Irene needs to thank her for gently pushing her in the right direction.

Abby did seem clingy at the caravan park so when she went to see him on the beach when he was working, it would seem - to him - like she was stalking him.  The night before was that coincidence she came out of Salt just as he was packing up?   She did admit to Levi she found it hard to trust people not just because what their dad had done but other people letting her down, Eden may have been included in that.   But she shouldn't judge Mali on other people.

Brilliant idea of Eden's that Abby swop jobs, he won't be her boss anymore, they won't be together more or less 24/7 but she's close enough to  see him when her shifts allow.  Mali got  a  shock when she said "We're finished" but quickly explained she was finished with working with him.  OK Abby is no Xander but she does have experience on working behind a  bar.

She did reveal  a secret Levi didn't want revealing until he and Mac had got to know each other again - cough, cough😉😉.  It was hysterical when  Eden was banging on the door counting down from five!🤣 It was a slow enough countdown so they were able to get more  dressed than if she had speeded up. Then Mali, who didn't know he'd be interrupting anything, popped up behind Eden, but he did wisely retreat.  Eden, sneakily or not, caught Mac at  a real disadvantage by getting her to agree to take Abby on, double pay for covering after Xander had gone.

Still no real clue as to why Irene's avoiding John, even though he's now clued in.She doesn't seem to dislike him, so is she worried he'll somehow disrupt her routine?Dana dragging John back there against Irene's wishes could backfire badly, although it seems to be holding so far.

A good chunk of the episode seemed to consist of characters telling things we already knew, with Abigail filling in Kirby and Rose on her new role, but it was all handled in a friendly manner and I guess it's good to build these relationships.

Cash being referred to as the perfect cop was a bit laughable.I kept waiting for someone to add "Except for a few months ago when he persecuted an innocent man, led his stalker right to him and ended up on an attempted murder charge, but I'm sure he's got over that." After that reference to the River Boys last week, we suddenly have one turn up, even if they couldn't be bothered to give him a name (presumably Bongo or something), so that seems to be rattling along.

Maybe Dana shouldn't have gone against Irene's wishes but she was stuck in the middle, Irene wouldn't tell her why she didn't want John to see her and John couldn't understand why she didn't want contact with him, he even asked Justin but he doesn't know anything.  She cares for them both so took the  🐂 by the horns and is forcing them to talk to each other.

I did feel for Leah when Irene had a go at her for turning up late for her  walk which disrupted her routine.    Irene needs to remember it's not like it was back at rehab, the people there didn't have anything else going on, but Leah and Maz and Dana have jobs and lives to live so can't always be there on the dot of 10am for instance.   Irene's spreadsheet of her daily activities was well mapped out.

Was quite a girly/womanly episode with Rose, Abigail, Eden  and Kirby talking about their different options and their lives.   Only natural I guess Rose would be having a wobble about becoming a detective, but she was well encouraged by the other three.  Abigail appeared to have got over her problem with Rose being Mali's ex.

The invisible Sarge seems to think Cash would be the right replacement for Rose who put his name forward, do none of the other cops at Yabbie Creek get  a look in, wouldn't they be a  bit miffed to say the least.  I know he'd been Senior Constable  before and due to no fault of his own he got suspended, but then he quit.  I can see why Cash wouldn't want to, he's been there, done that, it's less responsibility being an average cop,  finish your your shift and  go home, he wouldn't see Eden as much and after what they'd just been through he wants to be there more not less.   Eden was canny though and spoke to Gary about it so in effect he was caught in  a double pronged attack.   People do have short memories don't they forgetting about his latest debacle, though no cop is perfect, look at the others that came before him.

Well seeing as there is no Mango River cop shop any more  the RB's  do have to schelp to Yabbie Creek to hand over any documents, report in if on bail.  I'm sure he will reporting back to  the others to say Newman is back on duty.  Pretty sure he won't the last one we'll be seeing.

Well, I guess we finally got an answer to what Irene's problem with John is but it wasn't a particularly satisfactory one.Given that Irene was pushing John away when she was at her lowest, he'd almost be the last person who'd remind her of all that, rather than Leah or Marilyn. Frankly the whole thing just feels like a weak plot device because Shane Withington's name came out in this week's holiday draw.

It was hard to have much sympathy for Sonny. As Remi said, it's time he learned to hear the word no. I guess I have some empathy for him feeling that everything goes Remi's way and nothing goes his, but I feel like that's only half the story.Remi's had a lot of things fall into his lap without having to work for them, but he's also had to work hard for other things, whereas Sonny just seems to spend his whole time expecting handouts. He did manage to charm Justin anyway, and he's probably not a bad person underneath it all, but Remi's reasons for wanting to be there for Bree are just foreign to him.

Moving forward a bit with Rose's leaving then.Turns out Bree is fine with being left on her own.I did wonder if she'd ask Remi to move in, but I suspect he wouldn't want to leave the band, even when they're not a band.

Irene really can't blame John for all the ills that have befallen her, I think it was more the fact he saw her at her lowest when he found her drunk at the bottom of the stairs.  Would she be acting like that if it had been Leah, Harper, Dana or Maz?   John may  have the tendency to put his size 12's in it times but he can be discreet when needs to be.  That T&T didn't go that well John and Leah were talking away but Irene just zoned out, Sad he  had to leave town so he could give her space.

But not everything goes Remi's way, he's hardly been living the high life.  He did get his hand smashed up by Jacob.  We haven't go a clue really of what Sonny has been doing when he hasn't met up with Remi, Kirby and Eden or how long it's been since he last saw them.  I reckon he could be quiet lonely even though he gives the impression  he likes being a loner. That look he gave Bree and Remi when he saw them on the beach was very envious. Remi's refusal to go and do the usual arcade thing made sense when we saw why later, couldn't be  a yearly thing though as Remi was rather occupied this time last year. Read on to find out why.  Bree was fine with letting  him do his boys thing but Remi was very insistent.  I did 🫠 when Remi told  Bree  why they were having that picnic, it was to commemorate the fact it had been a year since her dad died, it was a personal thing to her so no wonder he didn't want to elaborate on it to Sonny.   It does mean of course it's also  a year since Remi was knocked off his bike, kidnapped by Mickey and Wes, then dumped by the roadside and rushed to hospital in a  life threatening condition.

Sonny's  easy life was taken away from him when his dad went bust but that wasn't Remi's fault so did he/does he resent Remi  walking away from his?  He did show Theo and Justin photos of the cars his dad did have and appears to know what he is doing mechanically wise.  He couldn't grasp that Theo needed to work to keep up his loan repayments.  Justin made another very wise remark  to Theo, OK to work all the hours God sends but if you are knackering yourself you won't be fit enough to go lugging heavy equipment about or concentrated enough to do fiddly jobs  which could cause a more costly mistake

Not surprising I guess Rose would be having a few wobbles about her tec' course, if she'd pass muster and make it.  Kirby looking forward to the party, of course she's got to have one. 🥳🎉🥂   I think Bree would like being  on her own, she can invite Remi over whenever she likes and kick him out when she wants too. 😁

Without looking it up, which I probably should do, my brain is thinking it was Harper that found Irene after she fell down the stairs? I think John was keeping his distance from her at the time?

It's increasingly hard to get a handle on Eliza. Her fascination with Harper's pregnancy almost makes me think there was something similar in her history that's triggered this.I'm not really sure how to describe her demeanour.I wouldn't call it cold, which suggests a deliberate rejection of feelings towards others. And she doesn't seem to be getting any enjoyment from it.Yet there also seems to be something bubbling just under the surface, some emotion she can't quite access. She's very matter-of-fact.It's hard to know what to make of Roo's determination to give her the benefit of the doubt, especially since we know Marilyn's probably right. Is she in denial or just erring on the side of caution?

Remi gives an explanation to Sonny, who seemed to accept it and extend his own olive branch to Bree. While I think a lot of it was boredom, he was rather generous with Theo, helping him out just to be a friend. So Remi's off to meet Bree's mum, will we get to see it?

But it wasn’t John it was Harper. Do you actually watch the show?

I'm guessing H&Alover is referring to when John first found out Irene was drinking again - she was crying over the broken bottle at the bottom of the stairs.
