Things (not storylines) that haven't aged well

The seaplane was an interesting concept. 
Have never seen one before anywhere in Australia, but I guess they do exist?
I would have thought summer bay residents would have to bus it to a larger town to catch a regular plane.

The word seaplane brings back memories of adventure books I read as a teenager. By the looks of things, they still exist but their heyday was many decades ago. They're still mostly used for firefighting and getting around areas which have a lot of water.

It wouldn't surprise me if there was or is Yabbie Creek airport. It magically spawned a university some years ago and I think it also had a railway station.

Given the flights of fancy the writers have been known to have, it could've just as easily been an offshoot of Oxford. 

I remember some characters talking about TAFE back in the day. Did many actually attend courses there?

Watching season 1, Toms short shorts, the hairdos, Frank sports a ripper mullet, and the ladies permed big hair on Ailsa and Carly.  The fashions….acid wash jeans and bright colours.

And the ladies mainly rocked one pieces on the beach as opposed to bikinis in later years.

When Lance won the lottery money and gets a place of his own, the shoe board on the wall full of thongs is interesting

Pippa using cloth nappies with Christopher, and the hospital used cloth nappies with Martha.  Must have been not long after that disposables came into vogue

Pippa leaving still quite young Sally alone in the house, or looking after Christopher is another one.
