Lila_Q Posted August 14, 2022 Report Posted August 14, 2022 20 minutes ago, LD43 said: Chloe and Mia definitely lived in New Zealand with Ari because if not Ari and Mia would have only met a year or so before he went to prison, instead of the 8/9 years they were together. Tane said that Mia didn't know half of them, so I assume its down to the fact that in 10+ years things change and people may move back to their family in New Zealand. Or that Mia didn't go to all of the family gatherings. Mia and Chloe were living in Australia before coming to the bay. They would have moved over with Ari 1.5/2 years before he went to prison, so I doubt Mia would take Chloe back to New Zealand after only just moving. If Rob wrote that Ari moved to Australia 12 years ago, and if he spent 8 years in prison (as Tane said) then he would've been living in Australia 4 years before he went to jail. Ari was released only a few months before Mikaere was killed and Paratas came to the Bay. I don't think we'll be able to make any sense of this - the writers keep changing the Paratas back story.
LD43 Posted August 14, 2022 Author Report Posted August 14, 2022 It seems that by bringing in Mia and Chloe, which was good as we got to learn about Ari's backstory and in a way how he became who we was, it created a lot of confusion.
LD43 Posted September 7, 2022 Author Report Posted September 7, 2022 Wasn't sure where to put this, so I thought I would put it here since it relates to the Parata's. I have been rewatching some episodes from the last year and have noticed the same mistake/plot hole. All I can say is poor Mia! When Matthew calls Chloe in the season finale, we see the M section of her contacts and Mia isn't listed, as either Mia or Mum. Then later when Felicity is arrested and Tane calls Mackenzie we see his contacts, once again the M section. Mia is missing from there too. If it were just the once, it could be easily passed as a mistake. But twice raises some questions. Have they just all memorized Mia's number?
