Repeating Year 12 & Under qualified head teachers

It's amazing how many teenagers in Summer Bay have had to repeat year 12 just to keep them in school for longer so there is always enough of them at school to make the stories work!

Then they have a bit of a break like now when there aren't enough of them to bother with Summer Bay High scenes.

As for the head teachers, I know it is fiction, but there is no way Sally, in her early twenties with only a couple of years teaching experience would have been made head, the promotions of people like Zac just don't make sense.  Back in the old days - it was suitably qualified older people like Donald, Judith and Barry!  Now they just put any old teacher, no matter what their experience!  And the older ones never spend have the day in the diner!

Would love your thoughts on this.

I hated Sally as the head. I stopped believing in the show at that point.

And that Bianca ... don't get me started. At least Sally set a good example.

I have to agree with your point it does seem anyone and everyone can walk into the Head Teacher's job these days, I'm sure Fisher would have something to say, I also think the lack of teachers about the Bay is a concern the early years had characters that are teacher too as well as a head teacher in Fisher.

At least Maggie, the current one, is a bit more experienced and qualified!

Sally was just given the headship to stop Angie getting it, but it never did quite work for me.

I had forgotten that's why she got the job!

Teachers at country schools do seem to get promoted more quickly then in city schools. Acting positions do tend to come from within the existing staff of the school. But other than that it's not realistic. Presumably the teachers they talk about with out us seeing them would be better candidates for leadership roles in the school.

I agree. Other than Gina and Barry, every principal since Donald Fisher has been a joke.

I'm a bit biased, as 1988-2000 were my favourite years, but still.. it's frightening to think that Bianca, Sally, Brad, Zac and now Maggie had/have the same authority and power as Don used to have!

I think Matt was only kept down because Spencer left the show. I think Matt replaced Spencer's storylines and I think Ash was brought in to replace Matt storylines.

I think Matt was supposed to grow closer to the Braxtons. In 2014 it looked like a close friendship was growing beetween Matt and Kyle.

But I don’t think Matt would have had Ash's storylines as I still think Matt  would hook up with Charlotte and maybe Kyle could be the one to know Brax was still alive.

But Spencer left and Matt repeated a year to replace Spencer in the teen group.

I think Spencer and Maddy would get back together in 2015 had Spencer stayed in 2015.

Hmm, I actually like Maggie, but as has been the case with the recent Principals she isn't shown enough.
