Think of Robin Hood, he was a criminal, but we have empathy with him, not his victims as he also did good through his crime and was fighting the corrupt Sheriff of Nottingham. In that story, the bad guy was the supposed law and the good guy was the crim. You are actually agreeing with me in a way - using different examples from the show, You are also saying that morality is not absolute by saying you wouldn't be unhappy if Robbo were killed even thought that would be a criminal act in a legal sense. Speculating: Spoiler Robbo is innocent - he's is not Beckett Reid after all.
