I suppose the fact that they're both middle aged mothers makes people think they're similar and I do agree in a way with you.

Gina was definitely more of a business type though, played the school principal role well.

Both were single mothers, who also had a "motherly" dynamic with some of the other teens. Both had second marriages that ended in their tragic deaths.

 

I read this thread with the view - how are they similar, rather than looking for differences.

Another characters who I think are similar are Billie and Indi. Tessa De Josslin and Samara Weaving. Looks wise they resemble each other a lot. Character wise and backstory wise not so much. But their personalities etc. I can see similarities their.

After watching the last couple of Australian episodes, Mason and Hunter are beginning to remind me of Aden and Geoff. Whether this lasts long-term, I am not sure but for now they could be the new Aden v Geoff

I never saw a lot of Jack, but yeah Jett is a great person now. From the sound of things Jack turned fairly similar
