Don being frustrated Bisexual could be believable in the right hands but H&A back then would never have had the courage despite having a Gay Writer on staff and Aussie society generallly "Wouldn't go for that kind of thing" at that point in time. Maybe that could have been the reason it didn't work with Barbara....
