  1. I've just learned that Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is premiering in Hamilton just after midnight on May 30th. And I intend to be there, just like at the Simpsons Movie.
  2. Hi. What's up?
  3. Not a movie, but I just finished a five and a half hour NCIS Marathon, although I did pause to check on the Bill occasionally. Season 1, episodes 13 through 18. And sorry if I offended anyone with that last post. It just seemed the appropriate term for how I reacted to the scene, based on this definition I found.
  4. The Bourne Ultimatum. Better than Supremacy, not as good as Identity. But the scene where Landy is on the phone with Bourne: my mind has never been more f*cked. Even when I watched the Usual Suspects, or Memento.
  5. I'm sure it might have something to do with Amanda now being married to the her son's father. Yeah, I think we're supposed to assume that Jazz is unhappy at the fact that Amanda slept with her teenage son (Drew) and then married her ex, Drew's father (Peter). Also, Jazz was renting Amanda's house for a while but when Belle told Amanda about Jazz and the inheritance-scam thing, Amanda evicted her (from off-screen). I would love to see a proper catfight between them... with mud. In bikinis. But have they ever actually met before? Because after Dan's death they were both insulting each other, saying how the other had aged etc. I don't remember them actually being in the Bay at the same time, anyone else know? No, they were never in the bay at the same time last year. But it's possible that they met off screen when Jazz was leasing the house.
  6. ^^Hey that's great news. Yeah, it is. It's kind of overwhelming though. Still, I've got at least two months to get ready. Anyone here at UB?
  7. Battlefield Earth, which (and someone should lynch me for saying this) was not as bad as I expected. The only weak links in the acting or script that I found were John Travolta and the annoyingly frequent use of the words "man-animal" and "rat-brain." Barry Pepper was a bit hammy in the scene where he was rallying the humans, but he wasn't really that different to Mel Gibson in the Braveheart battle scenes. The plot resolution (involving fighter planes that should have stopped working centuries ago) was laughable, but the first 90 minutes mostly made sense. When I compare it to Plan 9 From Outer Space, Battlefield Earth wasn't totally bad.
  8. I think we're meant to assume that Jazz hates Amanda because she slept with Drew (since she mentioned during the catfight) and I guess Amanda hates Jazz because of the fire that her candles were partially responsible for.
  9. My news: Because I haven't managed to find a full-time job, I wrote to the course coordinator of the course I got into at the University of Ballarat: Bachelor of Arts/Diploma of Professional and Editing. It turns out that even though I deferred until 2009, I can enrol and start my studies in July. Finally, I may be going somewhere. Although it's probably time I started learning to cook.
  10. Not bad: I finally got to see the Doctor Who season 2 final, 18 months after everyone else in Australia. I was in South Africa at the time it aired. And I've been invited on a 10MMM leadership camp in Melbourne, which is looking terrific. On the other hand, I was supposed to register as a job seeker at Western District Employment Access and I kind of messed it up, but I can just go back later. You?
  11. Anyone want to chat?
  12. Good Night and Good Luck, which was excellent but not quite as enjoyable as The Insider.
  13. Braveheart: Better than Mad Max, not as good as Lethal Weapon. Anyone notice how Max, Martin and William are much the same character? Also, The Great Escape, and a totally mindblowing miniseries called 5ive Minutes to Midnight.
  14. Anyone want to chat?
  15. The Insider, with Al Pacino at his best and Russell Crowe not so much - I think his best was either A Beautiful Mind or LA Confidential. I hated Diane Venora, though.
  16. Callan Sherman was played by Kain O'Keefe. I found it the episodes section of BTTB.
  17. Anyone else catch the "Life on Mars" finale on ABC1? I thought it was terrific. Can't wait for "Ashes to Ashes"
  18. ^^ Yeah, I thought it was Bay's best. "Per un Pugno di Dollari" which I thought was hard to follow and not particularly engaging. The only thing that interested me was the somewhat unrealistic scenes of the Man With No Name shooting four men in two seconds. Overrated, although "Il Buono, Il Brutto Il Cattivo" is still on my list.
  19. Reservoir Dogs, a total work of art, with brilliant performances from Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen and Steve Buscemi. I now have Stuck in the Middle With You stuck in my head. If it wasn't already, Pulp Fiction would have been put on my must-see list.
  20. David Williamson's The Club, which would have to be the best Jack Thompson performance I've seen (As usual, not saying much, I've only seen him in Star Wars: Episode II and Broken Arrow). Teriffic script, acting, cinematography and soundtrack (namely Up There Cazaly). Interesting to see John Howard 20 years before Seachange and All Saints. I was completely disturbed though by the story he tells Frank Wilson about his sister and I was relieved to find out that it wasn't true.
  21. Silence of the Lambs, one of the most unpleasant movies I've seen. Jodie Foster at her best, as well as Anthony Hopkins (although I've only seen Jodie in Flightplan and Panic Room and Anthony in MI2). Manhunter and Red Dragon is going on my list of films to see, although not sure about Hannibal. Also, Fahrenheit 9/11, which was terrific, albeit totally biased. I think I preferred OutFoxed though. Bowling for Columbine is also now on my list.
  22. Hi. What's been happening?
  23. Ken Harper was a Senior Constable when he first appeared and I think he still is although I vauely remember him being referred to as a detective. His first episode was 3687, on March 2nd 2004. Lara's first episode was 3885, January 28 2005, when she and Harper arrested Kane for the armed robbery committed by his father. She's still a constable.
  24. Panic Room, with Jodie Foster. It was fantastic, my second favourite David Fincher movie. The first being Se7en.
  25. He's staying. He was in the opening credits the week after his first appearance.
