  1. Hey. How's it going?
  2. Not a movie, but I've watched 18 episodes of Grey's Anatomy since Monday night, and I intend to watch nine more over the weekend. I need a life.
  3. That's what I meant, actually, or at least that's where my music was from.
  4. I just watched OutFoxed, a great documentary exposing the conservative bias of Fox News. The highlight for me was the interview between Bill O'Reilly and Jeremy Glick. The Chaser didn't prepare me for that one. Found this joke posted as a comment on a video on Youtube: What's the difference between Bill O'Reilly and the Hindenburg? One's an flaming Nazi gas-bag, the other is a dirigible.
  5. I watched Ice Princess before, being as it was the best option at the moment, and it was a lot better than I expected. Better in a few ways than Bend it Like Beckham, although not many. Michelle and Hayden were terrific but not up to the standards they set in Buffy and Heroes respectively. Anyone else seen this? In the last couple of days I've also watched Memento, Predator and X2: X-Men United.
  6. Same. Anyone in particular, or on shuffle?
  7. Hi, what's happening?
  8. I had a job interview tonight, for a clerical position at the Hamilton Medical Group. I don't know what kind of impression I made, but it can't have been worse than in my successful Video Ezy interview two years ago. Fingers crossed.
  9. Well i don't know but i think he looks familiar he (Simon) was in a surfing programe I can never remember the name of it. Corey was in it too the cop that poisoned Irene. He looks shorter than 'Woody' Could always check and fine out. I'll look it up. Woody was in the programme years ago, back in 2001/2002 I think. As Simon's character was supposed to be about 17 and the actor that played Woody would now be in his 20's I doubt it could be the same actor. It is possible as a lot of the actors are a few years older than their characters. Sharni Vinson is 20 and Jessica Tovey is 23 or other way round. Bobby Morley is about 20 and Mark Furze is 21. Talking of Bobby Morley (Drew) he was in a 2005 episode of neighbours he had a walk on part buying a hotdog fron Dylan's dad. And American teen dramas are even worse: 90210, Smallville, The OC.
  10. Well. there goes that plan.
  11. I'm a little over half-way through the Siege - the bloody DVD's scratched. I'll put up a mini-review when I've finished it. But so far, Denzel Washington and Annette Bening are terrific.
  12. 2010: The Year We Make Contact. Less visually spectacular and mind-blowing but better written and acted than the original.
  13. Aden asked Tam to the Year 12 Formal. Brad refused to let her go with him. Tam ran into Aden at the Surf Club, he got her drunk (although she was well aware of it) and Cassie found them together on the beach later. As far as I know though, they didn't have sex, given that Aden hasn't been arrested for statutory rape. But when she found out Sally banned him from the formal and promised to report him to the police for supplying alcohol to a minor.
  14. I've changed my mind about watching the Siege. I'll save that for Sunday night and work on finishing KOTOR II
  15. Well, I'll be having fish and chips for dinner, watching HAA and Neighbours and possibly watching "The Siege" with Bruce Willis and Denzel Washington after that, so that's my evening planned. If you meant what am I up to right now (at quarter to 11 in the morning) I'm about to go and play Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords on X-Box. It's an awesome game, it's a turn based RPG but it has an engine that closely resembles a first person shooter. Only it's in third person. Are you into Star Wars at all?
  16. Yeah, what do you want to talk about?
  17. Red Eye, which I couldn't fault at all. Except maybe Jayma Mays.
  18. Personally I hate sleeping in summer.
  19. Can anyone tell me the episode number for when Irene was added to the opening credits? And possibly Colleen and Leah?
  20. Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Nowhere near as good as Halloween 4 and a long way from the original. Danielle Harris was a terrific young actress, but the teen actors were boring and stereotypical of the genre. The only death that I found emotionally involving was Rachel's - the other characters I just didn't care about. Loomis was tolerable, though. I wish my local Video Ezy had Halloween 6.
  21. I just finished rewatching "2001: A Space Odyssey" and while I respect it as a masterpiece and a breakthrough in visual effects, I thought the sound effects were annoying(except for the Blue Danube and Thus Spoke Zarathruster). I also thought it moved too slowly and the only decent actors were Keir Dullea and Gary Lockwood. I think I enjoyed 2010 more. Actually the only sci-fi movie that I enjoyed less was Star Trek: The Motion Picture.
  22. Yeah, I think a few of you have thought that, I'm not surprised. I chose it randomly when I joined the first time, during the Project 56 storyline.
  23. OK, what can I tell you about myself... My name's Toby, I live in Western Victoria with my parents. I have a brother working as a chef in Vancouver, and a sister living in Melbourne. I'm 18 and I completed by VCE last year, and I'm deferring a course at the University of Ballarat until 2009. I work as a shop assistant at Video Ezy, where my archival knowledge of movies occasionally come in handy. My favourite subjects at school were English and Media Studies, although the one I did best at overall was Maths. My dream is to be a screenwriter. I have an addictive personality, although my only vices are Coca-Cola, TV and occasional impulse buying (if you can call it that when I may take up to 20 minutes making a decision after the impulse). My favourite shows are HAA and Neighbours, Lost, 24, Prison Break, Friends, Heroes, Star Trek TNG and DS9. As a result of my addictive personality, though, I can get hooked on any TV show after only a couple of episodes. My favourite singers include Neil Finn, Kelly Clarkson, Westlife, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Christina Aguilera. My favourite movies are the Star Wars series, Star Trek 2, 6 and 8, Die Hard, Speed, The Terminator trilogy, the X-Men trilogy and the Scream trilogy. My favourite actors are Harrison Ford and Kevin Spacey.
  24. Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers My assessment: Better than Halloween II, not as good as Halloween: H20. The script, character development and acting were all better than expected. Danielle Harris was a great actress, a better screamer than Jamie Lee Curtis and she did "hysterical" better than Rebecca Ritters and I can't wait until the 2007 Halloween movie is on DVD in Australia, to see her as Annie Brackett. Donald Pleasance was less annoyingly melodramatic than in Halloween II though his "He's not human, he's pure evil!" thing was getting old. One thing that was annoying was the explosion at the gas station, which I'm pretty sure Loomis caused with his gunfire rather than Michael. Rachel Carruthers has taken Laurie Strode's place in my list of the top three slasher movie Final Girls, with the way she protected Jamie and the way she fought back at the end by running over Michael, which, unlike Alice Hardy decapitating Mrs. Vorhees in Friday the Thirteenth, didn't feel like an illogical mood swing, although there was more to it than Laurie's pure self-defence. The twist at the end was completely shocking and unexpected. I look forward watching Halloween V sometime soon.
  25. Is anyone interested in talking to an 18 year old, Australian TV-addicted sci-fi geek with no social life beyond (ironically) this website?
