Morag Bellingham - Cornelia Frances
Homeandawayfan. replied to emmasi's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
Susan Bower Lucy Addario wont bring Morag, Celia or Colleen back when her and Louise are at the helm. She is too busy worried about her precious Braxtons and Barrett's, in which I think Andy Barrett is one of the worst characters in the shows history. Some people said that when Sally returned in 2013 the writers did not understand her at all so if they did bring Morag back while Louise and Lucy are around she may also be ruined. -
I wonder if Belle Dingle will turn out to be a killer again, she seems to have hardened up no end now she is out of juvenile. I would have thought she had learned from her mistake over the manslaughter of Gemma. I quite like Lawrence. I dont know why but I like Robert as he is a legacy character. I wonder if Lawrence will succeed in his quest to out and boot Robert from Chrissie's life and Home Farm?

In episode 990 scenes were filmed at the Central Station in Sydney with scenes featuring Damo. H&A did film in inner Sydney a few times in 1992-1994 with Sophie running away to Camperdown near the station, Blake and Meg in Sydney and Shane and Angel at the Opera House. And Sophie at the airport in 1993.

Charity is one highly selfish lady, selfish to the bone. I hope she gets what is coming to her soon. She never used to be this selfish before during the Tom King and Zoe Tate eras.

IIRC he appeared earlier in that episode as a man who couldn't afford to pay for his meal. Ailsa let him go without paying and her kindness was repayed by him sneaking in at night and robbing the tills. I don't know if he attacked her as such but he certainly gave her a hell of a scare. From what I remember he isn't really mentioned after that, there is no mention of the police finding him. I checked the IMDB end credits and a Steve Le Marquand played a "Beggar" in the episode. I know Ailsa was jumped on from behind by a tall and well built man and then Alf found her later on in shock and hiding behind the counter and the tills were empty. Possibly the same man who did not pay for his meal.
-
Can anyone ask me, I cannot remember if the identity of Ailsa's attacker in the Diner in 1995 was ever established? I dont seem to remember it from watching all those years ago but am not sure if he was identified. I dont know if the actor who played the man who grabbed Ailsa from behind was ever credited.

Donna Bishop/Rob Storey (1994-1995)
Homeandawayfan. replied to Homeandawayfan.'s topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I remember when Rob just vanished to his boat shed in 1995 never to be seen again. My fave Donna moments are Jack seeing her in the shower and the Andrew Warren storyline. -
I know Donna gets some criticism for being a forgettable character in the show but I see that as personal opinion and in my personal opinion I quite liked her. And Rob Storey, one of the best characters of the sitcom year 1994. 1994 was more like Only Fools And Horses than Home And Away lol. I met Nicola Quilter just over 2 weeks ago at the stall in Camden and am pleased to meet a former Home And Away star at last. Her character Donna's most major story was her domestic abuse storyline with Andrew Warren.

Thanks. All helps for us fans to get a comprehensive knowledge of filming locations past and present.

I know in the John Farnham episodes in Oct 1988 they did film a few shots at expo 88 in Brisbane but in Episode 182, 27 Sep 1988, Roo was chatting with a woman near a dock area, sat on a bench and we saw skyscrapers in the background. I cannot pin down that location if it was Brisbane or Sydney. I have had a quick look at photos of Brisbane and Sydney in the late 1980s online but cannot come across any obvious area.

Morag Bellingham - Cornelia Frances
Homeandawayfan. replied to emmasi's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I think it is Lucy sidelining the legacy characters to favour her precious Braxtons. I for one would love to see Morag back for a few months at least. Cornelia is 73 yes but many actors are in full time work and are older than her. -
Roo Stewart - Justine Clarke & Georgie Parker
Homeandawayfan. replied to RooStewart's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I see both as the real Roo really, she was away for 21 years so plenty of time for her to morph from Justine Clarke to Georgie Parker rather than nip off to the head transplant clinic overnight like Pippa did in 1990. -
Great news. I saw Nicola Quilter (Donna Bishop) at her stall in Camden, London today and got a signed card, one of her business cards. Great to meet a former star of one of my fave ever TV shows. I shall upload the image in due course. Update: Nicola signing the card A close up I took of the card she signed for me.

The Dailymotion ones tend to freeze more often. A great shame, yes I reckon someone split on austvclassics and he has been told to remove the videos.
-
I have been watching from the Pilot again and am up to episode 43 but I had to watch the last 3 of the ones so far on DailyMotion. I Cannot see 1993 on there though.

Darryl 'Brax' Braxton - Steve Peacocke
Homeandawayfan. replied to dncllpyk's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
I quite like Brax, he is multi layered and shows his good and bad sides. He would do anything for his family and would stop at nothing to protect his family even if it had major consequences. -
Hi Alexx I tried to send you a PM eralier but it said you cant. Its a PM about the show at present. Could you empty ur inbox at all please?

Irene Roberts - Lynne McGranger
Homeandawayfan. replied to Cerise's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
If I was a writer or producer I would certainly ditch the current format and return H&A to its roots. Not eradicate totally but severely cut down on the crime stories and ditch the very harsh unbearable underscore music. And as others have said, I'd elevate Irene to prominent character status again. -
Ali Fowler would be good in H&A as Deborah. Not forgetting she was in Neighbours in 1986 as Zoe Davis.

In January 1993 when Sophie left, scenes were filmed at Sydney Airport. Also when I was watching some 1992 episodes when Sophie ran away from home, several scenes were filmed at Church Street in Camperdown. I visited a distant relative who lives near there on the Parramatta road and went past the junction to Church Street.

Barlow shot Kezza Barlow dead in 1988, he was the road gang foreman. If he got convicted in 1988 he would have been in jail until 2013 at least so he may have got released last year. The actor is Jeff Truman, he returned to H&A as Sarah's dad, I remember Matthew quite well.

Donald Fisher - Norman Coburn
Homeandawayfan. replied to Light of the Bay's topic in Character/Actor Discussion
Too true, I think it is probably more so Norman is 77 years old now, he is getting on, and TBH I did not mind Flathead's 2007 return. I think Norman does a small bit of theatre now and his last TV role was in 2008 I think as someone called Jeff. -

I often look at 1980s and 1990s newspaper records of online newspaper websites to find out about behind the scenes of Neighbours and H&A and how they did in ratings, actors an such, a good way of putting flesh on the bones of the 2 shows. The second article said Coburn grew up in Earlwood, Sydney, which is near the airport. -

On a very good Australian newspaper archive I found this very interesting article on Norman Coburn from 1970. He was over here in the UK in the 1960s and 1970s and the article says he owned 2 restaurants in London and had bought a 25 acre estate in Cornwall, so he was a bit of a businessman as well as an actor. http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/110333181?searchTerm=%22Norman%20Coburn%22&searchLimits=sortby=dateDesc And another one http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/45652447?searchTerm=%22Norman%20Coburn%22&searchLimits=sortby=dateDesc I think in 2014, if on the small chance Norman did return it would be for maybe 1 episode. -
I was a huge fan when the 1993 season aired. I remember Bobby and Greg like yesterday. I shall enjoy discussing these episodes.
