  1. In the "pilot episode", just after Tom and "Pippa" moved their family to the Summer Bay Caravan Park and bought it from Alf, one of the caravans caught fire. Bobby strenuously denied this, and this was before the "nutter" was roaming Summer Bay, and they couldn't prove Bobby lit the caravan. Who lit it?
  2. I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but when was the episode when Alf confiscated "Duncan"'s mobile phone, and smashed it? This was in the Surf Club, from memory around the year 2001, when "Duncan" was in Morag's custody, after Alsa's death.
  3. Admins feel free to merge with any Locations thread. The location where Blake and Meg have a dirty weekend in Episodes 965 and 968 is a flash hotel called the Park Hyatt in Sydney, located right near the Harbour Bridge near Circular Quay. Location is https://goo.gl/maps/jDB2a944e3bHnjxy7
  4. Do you mean the time when Shane was doing work experience at the police station, he told someone to turn the hose on his neighbour's barking dog (1373)?
  5. Thanks Dan.? When the credits start rolling at the end of Episode 958 (March 11, 1992) for example, it says "Home And Away, by Greg Haddrick". What does the "byline" mean at the beginning of the credits?
  6. Who were the Story Editors in the early years of Home And Away? I notice Coral Drouyn wasn't involved with Home And Away until about Episode 3000 or so.
  7. Hey I'm not saying unkind things about Shane Parish (the real Shane Parish, not the female baby called "Shane"). I don't know where you got the idea I was badmouthing him. He was one of the main reasons why I started watching Home And Away in 1992. I watched him go from someone who had a blood feud against Ryan, to being the victim of Tug's cruel setup, before rising through the ranks and getting together with Angel Brooks. He and Tug even made up eventually, and that was when even I found Tug to be a likeable character. Hell, he even tried to help Tug when he crashed Roxy's car. RIP Shane Parish 1976–1996. Much-loved husband of Angel. Father of Dylan.
  8. Who says John is a boy's name? Who says Adam is a boy's name? I could go on all day....... That was Shane alright, using the name "Alex". That was his previous enrolment at Summer Bay High before he re-enrolled the following year.
  9. It was a mistake making the baby a girl and also giving it a boy's name
  10. Miss Cherry, the disgusting games he played with Rachel (a little girl far too young to be considered his "girlfriend" or to be involved in any sexual games, I mean come on......YUCK). Jesse was a glorified car thief and other criminal, who Selina put up on a pedestal. I also don't like what he did to Shannon when she was having her nightmares and vomiting in Mr Fisher's car.
  11. Jesse McGregor, and what a ........ he was Shane was the only "poster boy" I liked. I distinctly remember how the girls drooled all over Jesse, and it was disgusting
  12. Locations question: In the 1991-92 cliffhanger episodes, Adam and Blake asked Josh to drive them to a place called "Rocky Point", a location they said was "100km up the coast" and would take 3 hours (2 hours with Josh's driving?). The credits at the end of Episode 910 thank the NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service for their assistance in the production of that episodes. What is the actual location these scenes were filmed at?
  13. Yes, his brother did seem to appeal more to the writers from what it looks like to me, but it was quite a while between when Loo left (Sept. 1992) and when Nick left (mid-94)
  14. Why didn't the writers pair Nick up with anyone else after he and Loo broke up?
  15. You haven't given us an example of this. I did give an example where the adult is right and the child is wrong (ie. Alf trying to stamp out Karen and "Revhead"). You need to give an example of your case, ie. when the child was right and the adult was wrong.
  16. What do you mean? You said teenagers can get to say they are right nowadays when they couldn't back in the old days.
  17. Oh, so that's why teenagers can take drugs and think they are right, they can do it, even when adults say no, that is wrong. I mean ....... the drug-testing at festivals gives them a legal back door to taking illegal substances in, because regardless of whether the substance is illegal, they can keep it and use it, so long as the tests find no dangerous contaminants. Sorry, I don't accept that. Respect for elders has gone out the window these days. Furthermore, Karen is really, really convinced that she is right to go out with Revhead and live with him, but in fact Alf and Alsa (her olds) are actually right, because they can see he is a bad influence on her, but Karen just thinks he's just a victim of circumstance, and no matter how many robberies he pulls off, he will get better with her help. Sorry. Wrong. But with age comes experience. Older people have more life experience than young people, and as such have a better idea of knowing right from wrong.
  18. Ref: Episodes around 810 Why do Hayden and Marilyn have to worry about what their mates think? Is there some unwritten rule somewhere that says "thou shalt not date an older woman"?? but it's OK (even encouraged) for older guys to date younger girls??
  19. Someone said here it involved some expense changing the opening titles, which was why it was a while between changes there. As for the closing credits, Prisoner (1979–1986) goofed up the closing credits a lot, as noted on a site dedicated to that show, hence the UNCREDITED lists appearing in many of the episodes listed on that site. I notice "Christopher" got credited in the closing titles a lot even though he never said a word. But some customers, like in Alf's store or the Diner, and some police officers, like the ones accompanying the ones that do get credited, don't get mentioned in the closing credits.
  20. Why do they credit only some extras but not others?
  21. Pippa said a few weeks in advance she was planning to marry at home, and I said what? Why? When she and Michael insisted so much on "tradition". Does it cost more to marry in a church. I can understand about keeping costs down. Did you notice Michael lived in his caravan right up to including the wedding day?
  22. Why did Pippa and Michael marry at home?
  23. You're telling me that they NEVER get bored of each other, even after that amount of time? I find the endurance of such monotony for extraordinary long periods quite amazing! I especially find it hard to believe that someone with the low level of maturity and stability like Carly could stay together for any longer than a few years. Sorry, I forgot to add: isn't Home And Away supposed to be about failed marriages and broken homes anyway? Notice how many children have both parents still together (which seems next to none) That's what makes "everlasting couples" even less credible on this particular show
  24. Maybe the story writers (whatever drives their minds) have never decided whether the abovementioned couples are "still together". Frankly, I find it really hard to believe that any more than a minority of couples "go the distance". I mean.......can you imagine living and sleeping with the same person for eons on end, many decades on? Come on.....?
  25. Oh and while we're on the subject of Carly: Why have the story producers still got her and Ben together still??? (when was she last mentioned? 2019?) Any relationship in that show wouldn't last that long, surely????
