  1. David Croft. The lowest of life's SCUM! Sophie's morbid obsession with him, dragging on for the rest of her time on the show (from mid-1991 to early 1993) Yeah yeah, I know. You are sick of hearing me say this. But the thread question is relevant in this case: worst relationship with a guest character. This piece of human detrius is comparable to Sharon Gilmore on Prisoner. Judy Bryant's lesbian lover, young enough to be her daughter. Her death resulted in a long-running obsession, spanning a similar length of time in that show's history, up until after Jock Stewart was killedput in a wheelchair after he coincidentally fell down the stairs from Bryant's upstairs unit (he fixed Gilmore by pushing her down the stairs). SORRY AGAIN!!! But it has to be said. The audience had a love-affair with this David creature, and I fail to understand why, to this day, a stupid number of years later.
  2. The Early Years group which I am Admin keeps getting requests from Peacock, Cartwright, Ethan Browne, and even Ray Meager, sometimes misspelling their names and sometimes adding "private" and "official". Thanks for the insight Chatty Kathy, I wondered how these creatures get their rocks off, now it's a question of what cave they work from. They can't even tell that these actors (bar Alf) have nothing to do with the Early Years. Catfishing, ay? More than just a nuisance, they are criminals
  3. Curtis Laura, they were my all-time favourite, without a doubt. I hated it when Alsa and Mr Fisher INTERFERED with their love, then Laura became too much of a dare-devil and this had tragic consequences
  4. Why? Was he a bad actor? He seemed to play the part of Ram pretty well!
  5. You should have seen him when he ran Blackmoor. He really was a Nazi from hell. And the way he treated Aboriginal social worker Pamela Madigan. When he called her a darkie she slapped him one! And when he was Jim Fletcher's Army mate until Mr Fletcher and Meg double-crossed him. Mr Fletcher paid, with a flamin' bomb delivery. It destroyed his family, blew them to smithereens. Then when Alf came to Summer Bay, he became Craven-lite.
  6. Alf hated Ryan for no reason. Was it because he double-crossed his beloved surrogate daughter Marilyn by dating her to make it look like he was no longer going out with Lucinda? I don't buy that the whole town hated Ryan just cos he broke Nick and Loo up. Alf does have a habit (like his sister, who he chastises for doing the same thing) of not minding his own business. Alf was a lite version of the notorious Butler-Craven he was in Prisoner, where he blew up his mate's family, and had Loreli raped and threatened her kid Zoe.
  7. My "axe to grind", Captain Hulk, is about the deluded belief about a couple "knowing" they are "right" for each other so quickly after they "first meet". Tell me something: Is your mindset about suspension of disbelief when it comes to how "couples" on the show magically find each other, and live on "happily ever after" like in the fairy tales?
  8. This is what makes me so cross about the Ben sux Carly affair. They started doing it only like 7 episodes after he arrived in the Bay as a random stranger, and to think they are still together TODAY, like 30+ years later, is simply unrealistic.
  9. What happened to my post that was "pending approval"? All I said was, the word "wog" wasn't always taken to be offensive, neither now nor then. Was that in itself offensive? (admin/moderator please feel free to PM me to explain) When you say the the word "wog" was "hacked out" by ITV, was it bleeped, silenced, or the second it was said cut out resulting in a jump cut?
  10. The "Pippa swap", as you call it, would have to rank as one of the most embarrassing cases of glaring appearance changes in the history of any soap. Why couldn't the producers have at least saved face by at least killing "Pippa" off (after killing Tom off), seeing as was impossible for the blonde-haired "Pippa" to work alongside Michael as on-screen husband and wife?
  11. Locations question: Where is the farm Tug and his father lived in 1992? This location is used when Shane gets his foot caught in a dog trap in 1992, again in early 93 with Aunty Mavis, and again in late 1993-early 1994 when his father is released from jail, drunkenly tries to kiss Sarah, and disappears.
  12. sheesh....What a real bootlicker this Broadhurst person was. Anyway. I have another question: Remember when Ryan came back to town, in Episode 1117? Nick hated his guts for "ruining his life", and still held a grudge against him despite the fact his life with Loo was behind him. Shane hated him because he changed his mind about charging him over the stolen car. My question is, why did the whole town hate him so that Alsa and Bobby wouldn't give him a job at the Diner? What did he do to them? I thought his beef was only concerning Nick and Shane. Why the whole town, like as if he were a mass murderer? And all because he caused Nick and Loo to split up? Why is it the whole town's business what went on between Nick and Lucinda?
  13. I would have thought after 2 husbands, Pippa would be sick of it, plus how could she "fall for" another man so easily? Broadhurst got into Angel's pants far too easily for my liking, and he was already taking over from Shane even before he died. Plus being as obscenely rich as he was, you'd think he'd be one of the "evil" characters. Money being the root of all evil and all that. But not Broadhurst? Why??? Phil sux Marilyn? Marilyn is just too gullible! And why did Marilyn never have any children or "accidental pregnancies" to him? Doesn't her virgin-before-marriage attitude even permit her to have sex even after marriage?
  14. That's good.
  15. Thanks for clearing that up, Dan. I'm glad to know there is no conspiracy. I was thinking the worst.
