  1. I am a huge fan of Aden and Belle together. Yes, they both made mistakes when it comes to them getting back together but they're only human, like all of us, and neither of them meant to hurt Angelo. Things were handled badly and yes, you can't help how you feel but you can help how you behave but they both (especially Belle) wish they'd done things differently so let's turn the page now. Belle has in my view contributed so much to changing Aden. She brought love into his life, something he did not have much of, and she supported him and stood by him in his most difficult times. Aden is now proving to be so loyal, caring and unconditionally committed (sorry, watching at Aus pace but I don't think I'm giving anything away by stating this) and that can only be a sign of true love - and a strong type of love. I would not mind having someone like that by my side. I am really looking forward to seeing what 2009 brings for this great (in my view) couple. Having said that, it's true, they are only fictional characters and we should not forget H&A is just a show where real-life situations get sometimes stretched. On a different note, I'm off to Italy for my Christmas holidays tomorrow so I wish all Adelle fans and non-Adelle forum members a very happy Christmas. Looking forward to reading your posts in the new Year.
  2. I love Aden and Belle! The last two episodes have confirmed to me that they are the best couple on the show at the moment. They are totally committed to each other and the love they feel for each other is acted so well on screen that it comes across as real. As far as I'm concerned they ooze chemistry and I'd like to think they'll be together until Todd and Jess leave the show. I also think that the reasons why most people like them and some people don't have been explained extensively and repeatedly so we should maybe wait and see what's in store for them in 2009. Now that Aden's abuse storyline is finished (which dominated/affected most of their relationship and created pro and anti Adelle viewers) it is like a chapter if not a book has been finished. I am now keen to see where the writers will take them and I will from now on comment on them as a couple on the basis of what happens in the next chapter/book.
  3. Aden is my favourite character too and I really hope we'll get to see some interesting storylines involving him. I really miss Aden when he is not in an episode. Also, I've been re-watching episodes at UK pace and Todd's performance on the big screen comes across so much better and powerful. There is one particular scene which I think shows what good an actor he is: when he is still in the clinic and he finally has a breakthrough with his counsellor and understands his father did not help him because he could not help himself. Todd's facial expressions change so much in the space of a few minutes: he goes from being serious and reflective, to emotional and then happy in a very sweet and touching way - when the doctor tells him he deserves a break and that he can go out for a day and see his friends his face really lightens up (his eyes do). So, as far as I'm concerned, bring on more acting from Todd (and even better if it involves Belle too )
  4. Absolutely love Aden and Belle together. Yes, Belle was part of Aden's journey but he's still on that journey and after all the drama/pain they had to go through I think they deserve to be happily together for a long time.
  5. Oh no, please! Now that they are finally back together and have gone through all that drama (and still are) let them be happy AND together for a long time. I think at the moment, in spite but also because of all the problems, they are a very strong couple. Please writers don't ruin them - again.
  6. I really like Ruby (absolutely true she is very mature for her age) and I think Rebecca Breeds is a beautiful and talented actress. I loved her portrayal of Ruby while she was going through the pain of having her dad go through Alzheimer. Hopefully she'll get more juicy storylines going forward.
  7. It's pretty obvious that Aden is one of those characters you can't be neutral about: you either love him or hate him. Being one of those people who loves Aden as a character, I'll try and bring some positive vibes . Aden has undoubtedly done many bad things in his still relatively short life. I don't think people have forgotten them but I believe they are now friendlier towards him because they see today's Aden and not yesterday's Aden and they judge him by his present actions. Nobody can deny he has changed a lot and that he is making an effort so they are willing to give him a chance. Since coming out of the clinic he's been focusing on his studies, looking for jobs and trying to stay out of trouble (yes, there's the whole cheating business, I'll give you that, but somehow I find Aden's role in this situation not as reproachable as Belle's). If we are not prepared to give people second chances then there's hardly any hope for any of us! Aden admits he's working towards being a better person but that does not and cannot happen overnight. He apoligizes to both Rachel and Belle for what he did. He has not apologized personally to his father yet but they have met and I'm sure the writers have not closed this chapter yet and we will see more of them together in the future. Yes, it's true we have not seen him apologize to Goeff for all the nasty things he subjected him to and I'm only hoping that an apology will come soon. As for Tam, as bad as Aden's actions towards her were, she's not exactly around any more so he can hardly apologize to her. Some people have mentioned Aden's lack of empathy but I can counter that by saying that he was/is very empathetic towards Ross and Melody for instance. Before he used to hang out with waste-of-space bullies like him and these have now gone from his life and he's developed healthy relationships with the likes of Roman, Morag and Nicole. Finally, it is probably true that the whole pre- and post-breakdown counselling which led him to making love for the first time and to him recognizing what he felt towards his father was wrong (and he was visibly upset when he had this breakthrough) was very short but this is a soap and if things happened in the same timeframe as they do in real life we would still be seeing Aden trying to cope with having a normal sexual relationship and this would probably drive all viewers away because the show would become slow and boring. The writers and the actors (in this specific case Todd Lasance) are doing an amazing job at dealing with serious real-life issues but let's not forget what H&A ultimately is: entertainment. I am kind of enjoying this constant exchange of pro and anti comments (even though I must admit sometimes anti comments upset me as Aden's character is very close to my heart for personal reasons). We seem to be focusing a lot on the character though and not on the actor. I don't think we should forget to mention that our feelings towards Aden, whether they are positive or negative, are all down to the brilliant way Todd has been bringing his character to life.
  8. I wouldn't exactly say they are pretending nothing happened. Belle is clearly - and rightly - feeling the guilt and knows that what she did was wrong. She was crying her eyes out and was clearly upset. As for Aden, from day one after the reunion he wanted them to come clean. They both know they could have handled things better but what's done is done. Cheating is morally wrong but not criminal. As for being in love, why would they be pretending? To me their love is very believable. Why would they have gone through everything they've been through - including the not so admirable cheating phase - if they did not truly care for each other? As for maturity, they are as mature as any 19-year old can be (and by that I don't mean to sound like all young people are immature by default, I simply mean that at that age there is still plenty of room to grow up - maybe we are forgetting that they are still teenagers after all so life is still a learning curve and hopefully there's room for improvement). I don't find they dominate the show (maybe because I love watching them). They have just as much airtime (not sure this is the right term, sorry English is not my mother tongue!) as any other major character. I skip lots of the other scenes just to watch them - well I guess viewers like you and me Cerise make sure all characters get a fair share of viewers
  9. Could not agree more Zetti! Aden and Belle have both passion and friendship. Belle was there unconditionally for Aden while he was going through his abuse breakdown and it looks like Aden will be there unconditionally for her . Yes, cheating is wrong but we all make mistakes (even if in this case Belle is a repeat offender) and Belle I think this time has learnt her lesson. She is sorry and is paying for it by feeling the guilt and the shame of having been exposed to the whole town. To me that is enough so let's just move on and turn the page.
  10. And where did this all begin? Aden and Belle hating (well, maybe not hate, but it certainly wasn't love) each other, and then, as by magic, they love each other.
  11. Todd Lasance, well what can I say about him apart from the fact that he set off my mid-life crisis for being so incredibly gorgeous... Being serious now, I do not watch any soaps except for Home and Away and I used to only watch it on and off. Since Aden became more of a regular character I have been more and more interested. Todd has managed to portray a very complex character in an outstanding way. He went from being bullish, angry and aggressive to being fragile and in emotional turmoil, then on the mend and caring. Todd Lasance manages to act all the different Adens we see in a very credible way. I think and hope for him that he will do very well in his career after Home and Away.
  12. I love Aden and Belle together. I loved them at the very beginning and like them now. Despite all the ups and downs they truly love each other and the chemistry between them never fades. Aden has turned around mainly due to Belle and he is now there to support her. I don't paticularly think they argue a lot. The many recent arguments were only due to the fact that they were not together but both wanted to be. I do not like the fact that getting them back together had to involve Belle cheating on Angelo and I wish the writers had done it differently. I just hope that their relationship can soon be drama-free for at least a while.
