I liked this one.Loved Nicole baiting Belle, whose only response was violence, and Ruby thinking Xavier had come off best.Hoping it doesn't go this way for Nic in the show, although I suspect it will...

Occasionally, yeah, they get four, but ready to upload at some point, I've got every screen count for 2007 and outwith Alf I could count those who had 4 episodes in the one week on my hand. Ric and Matilda briefly appear in 5 episodes one week. It's not the point in general that seems to annoy people, because they are employees after all, and it's not 72 episodes like Sophie we are looking for (or even the 240-odd episodes by Coleen Powell in Prisoner), because they have rights too, but I don't know, when I'm working, some weeks I do overtime etc, other weeks I don't get as many hours etc and to me, that is sort of how I think a TV programme should be made. You get particularly heavy weeks when your characters is the focus, you get a few scenes when you character gets a rest. I sound like a broken record, because it's something that particularly annoys me. Yeah, it's really not working.Every single character, as a rule, is in 2 or 3 episodes a week.If it's meant to ensure an equal share it's not working because it just means characters get shoehorned into episodes that don't require them because they need their two. While characters with a big storyline disappear for half a week or aren't in episodes that require them because they've used up their three. I think the rule here in the UK is actors are contracted for the year with a minimum number of episodes and, in theory, they could appear in every episode if they were needed. They should probably adopt a system like that because purely in storytelling terms the system is more of a hindrance than anything.

Does seem a bit silly, just as you are getting into a juicy storyline e.g. Belle and her withdrawal story it switches to another storyline and we (the audience are left dangling). Does this mean the actors/actresses don't get paid the the two days they are not on screen? Another quickie, why do they not show the characters D.O.B on their biogs? It will solve a lot of debate as to how old a character is, at the moment Leah is the only one whose age we know. VJ is 7 coming up 8 but they change the ages and other details to suit the storyline. I emailed them direct to ask them why all the details of a character (Stuart in neighbours and can't recall who it was from home and away) had been altered i.e Stuart had 3 sisters later on he had 1 brother then 2...it's called Artistic license and they do it to suit the storyline so maybe that's why they choose not to reveal their ages. You never know next year Leah could well be 29 again lol This is one of the reasons i have given up on H&A not to mention the ridiculous storylines and lack of continuity but I still read about them in case i do start watching again. I think VJ's only just 7, he tends to celebrate his birthday around the finale.Completely off topic but didn't Stuart always have a brother? He was introduced as the younger brother of an old friend of Drew's(ie Steve). When VJ was kidnapped they said he was 7. He was born in 2001. Stuart said he grew up with 3 sisters when he first came to Erinsborough then later on Ned arrived and then Steve!! Talk about confusing people. VJ was born in the very last episode of 2001 so he shouldn't turn 8 for over six months.(And Stuart definitely said he had an older brother when we first saw him in Oakey.)

Thanks, Slade.I did actually have a vague idea for a story involving Aden and Nicole but I remember getting comments on the first story about how it was a relief to have a story centered around different characters. So I decided to stick by my existing audience instead of trying to find a new one.

Nice to see Drew's still got his attitude even when he's in pain.Good chapter.Liked the last line and Belle's reaction to it.

Woah.Has Jack got amnesia?Does he really remember being with Katie six years ago or is that just what she told him?Why did she get in touch with Martha? The police seem to be on to Rachel, what's going to happen there?

Gosh, these one-shots get moved quickly, don't they?I was going to leave it on the main site until Friday. Anyway, thank you to everyone who's read and/or commented on it.I was trying really hard to give equal balance to their different perspectives and I'm glad you thought I managed it.

I've just dipped back into this after leaving it until we were a bit further along at UK pace.I missed a lot! I like how you've brought all the other characters into it, it feels like they've got a real circle of friends.Looking forward to what comes next. -

Oh my god!Jack's alive!(Am I right in thinking he's got some sort of amnesia?) And Angelo's being blamed for killing Hugo!Is Rachel deliberately framing him or are the police just jumping to conclusions?

Nice ending.Aden's speech was good and I liked how Belle jumped in and said yes before he could ask her, it made me smile. -
Yeah, that kinda makes sense.Although ironically, even though they didn't argue that much when they were going out, I think Lucas did challenge her at times. The scene, some time after they broke up, where he forces her to befriend Annie is one of my favourite moments between them.

Sorry, that last post was a bit rubbish.I've been at work since then so lots of time to think and here's me trying to psychoanalyse Belle.[Feel free to snort in amusement.]Why is Belle attracted to bad boys? Her attitude is broadly similar to that of Cassie, another otherwise intelligent person who admitted to liking guys with a "dark side", but Cassie was an abuse victim and Belle wasn't so it's probably not the same thing. There's a tradition among Home and Away fans of portraying Belle as having a strict, religious upbringing. If that were true, being attracted to bad boys could be a sign of rebellion, choosing someone that her adoptive parents would object to.But I'm not sure she does have that sort of background. From what I remember, her parents were a couple who weren't really interested in her, only took her in because her grandmother paid them, pretty much let her do what she wanted as long as it didn't affect them and, when she ran away, were quite happy to let her stay away.So...could it be attention seeking?Dating bad boys because she wanted her parents to sit up and take notice? As I mentioned several pages back, her attitude when she was seeing Ric was interesting. She was genuinely surprised that he was supporting her and caring about what happened to her while she was searching for her mother. So I suspect up till then her boyfriends had been deadbeats who hadn't really been interested as a person. The whole neglected child thing could well have left her with low self-esteem, which would explain why for all her feistiness she seemed genuinely upset that the like of Cassie and Matilda considered her easy, her insecurities in the early days of her relationships with Lucas and Aden and her habit of clinging on to any guy that shows an interest. And the fact she went for bad boys when she was younger might be why she gravitates towards them when she's faced with a choice.

^It's hard to say really, it just sort of happened.Certainly by about 4814, 4815 Charlie seems to be going above and beyond for her.
-
I agree. Why did they get rid of Pat?I liked Pat.Since Ruby's been with Xavier, she just seems to have lost all her spark. She had more chemistry with Matthew for pity's sake!
-
Don't know why she always chooses bad boys, maybe she just needs it to keep her interested. But the self-esteem thing is interesting. She's probably no different to several other characters but she just seem to jump into relationships feet first. She seemed to fall in love with Aden incredibly quickly, one minute she didn't even seem to like him then as soon as she realised he was interested in her she just let him into her bedroom with barely a protest.Same with Drew, she'd been scheming to get Ric back then as soon as Drew said he liked her she moved onto him without so much as a hesitation. When she broke up with Aden last year, she said she was going to do something for herself...and then started dating Angelo.Even the cheating on Lucas started because she was feeling insecure and thought he didn't like her.Maybe getting back with Aden as soon as she gets out of rehab isn't a good idea if she's finding it hard to stand on her own two feet.

Oh lord, the hate's started already. How exactly is Nicole solely responsible for a decision they both made? It's not as though she's in a happy clappy mood herself at the moment. Im pretty sure Roman layed down the rules to Aden when he moved in, Aden disrespected him in not following those rules... Aden's been living there for a year, Roman's stuck by him when he's done a lot worse than having a one night stand when they're both free agents and he apparently has no objections to Belle staying over.It just comes across as hypocritical. but we'll have to see how they do it.

Good chapter.I liked the way you shifted the viewpoint between them halfway through so we got to see what they were both thinking.Looking forward to more.

Who knows? At the beginning of the year it said Sally was coming back for Jack's funeral. There seems to be a regular update of "Sally's coming back for...whatever reason we can think of at the moment."

This thread needs changing back to Belle/Aden/Nicole and could really do with been moved to the spoiler section. As I mentioned there was a Nicole/Belle/Aden thread in the spoiler section but it has been removed. Or possibly to Australian Discussion? It does seem to refer more to a storyline than to a character or pairing.

Thanks so much to everyone who's commented on this and I'm glad that you seem to like it.There was a couple of things that didn't work quite as well as I hoped so the words of encouragement were much appreciated.

It was okay.Good to have you back.I thought Aden did a good job looking after Sydney. Not so good looking after Eloise but hey, it all turned out all right in the end. -
Okay, who retitled this?Because as I pointed out in my last post if anyone read it they're here.
