I knew Jasmine would be glad Irene had retrieved the bracelet once she had calmed down but that was a quick calm down, I'm taking that to mean she really has moved on. Perhaps she and Tori need a proper talk and Jasmine may not always be around she may move away at some point. Tori was really out of order jumping to the conclusion Christian had sought Jas out so he could get her side, it was just a coincidence he bumped into her at the Surf Club, she thought he'd done it deliberately. Despite Leah's misgivings he decided to get Tori and Christian together and it worked. Nice to see Taylor and Jasmine together, they make good friends, bit eerie as I still think they look very similar. Neat mention by Jas of Robbo's way of going for a run to get things straight in your head, I'd noticed she'd been doing that. Taylor had been asked to stay for the trial, then Rosetta didn't use her, as he had Willow's testimony. More awkward was the chat between Rosetta and Taylor, especially seeing the refresher at the beginning. He did have the grace to admit he was partly to blame and as she has said before their marriage was in trouble before Colby came along, she wouldn't have been so tempted by him if their marriage had been OK. From what Rosetta said he's waiting to hear where he's posted next, is this a kind of punishment, him not being based anywhere, because of his last **** up when the wrong man went to prison? ? From what I could gather this visit is to see how she 'feels' about Colby. It was a blink moment not to see Rosetta in a suit. Roo was pretty sharp picking up the fact Irene was acting shifty when she and Alf where talking about Martha. Irene quite rightly wouldn't tell her what Martha had told her, apart from assuring Roo it had nothing to do with Martha's health. Roo isn't known for keeping a confidence - her telling Ryder about Evan's condition comes to mind. Comes to a head anyway as we saw Alf delivering Martha with an ultimatum, her coming home and telling him she had a son who had 'issues'. Then quelle surprise a stranger comes into the Diner and asks about the Stewarts. Now who could that be?? He's not been heard of or mentioned for ages but does Duncan know about Martha, she would be his step mother wouldn't she? ? Small niggle but why was John referred to as Marilyn's ex, they're not divorced yet are they.

That was a really good in depth talk between Ari and Tane, Ari speaking, probably for the first time, about how hard he really found it inside. Paul had things well thought out from the beginning. I thought they would blackmail them by finding out Mac's car was legally still Rick's and using that against them. They'd keep quiet if they did 'one more job'. Btw isn't Reefton Lakes - where Karen works/worked?? Did I miss it or have they told Mac what is going down? Ari had just done time when Mikaere did the bank job so didn't want to get involved and blames himself for not going with him. Proper brotherly decision to get Nikau away, and no Ari he didn't buy your fibs. I'm glad they were honest with him - he's not a kid - remember. Bella was very mature about him having to go, having him away from her but safe is better than having him near but at risk. Where is Irene when she is needed? As I thought Tori was very touched by Jasmine's gift to Grace and understood why she was so keen for it to be opened before the others, more personal in a special way. It was an unwise decision on Jas's part, she was upset and I thought she'd be happy Irene had rescued it. Maybe give her a few days and she'll feel differently. Perhaps Tori should have talked to Jasmine when they were alone and not in the Diner. I'm getting the feeling Tori hasn't told Christian the full story behind Grace's coming into being, if so that would explain her saying he doesn't understand why things are the way they are between her and Jasmine. When would you tell your new fella that your child is IVF and you went behind the guys back to use his sperm? Good to see Justin home. That Cynthia was a right cow standing John up like that, she could at least texted him to say she had changed her mind instead of leaving him sitting there like a right plum.

Tane and Ziggy had been looking in her car for Dean and it made perfect sense to me for him to be the one to get him home. Dean couldn't try and sweet talk Tane could he? Had Bella decamped to the Parata's seeing as she wasn't at the flat? Ziggy neatly side stepped the reason why Dean was in such a state as he and Ari are one of the 'few' that don't know what happened. He was overstepping the mark the next day as Ziggy is well able to tell Dean where to go all by herself. I wondered that about Dean needing Ziggy as everyone else, apart from Bella, has gone from his life. Is he treating her as a crutch to lean on? I had a 'what' moment when he said Ziggy was the most important person in his life. But then he really does believe he's lost Jai for good. Good point pembie very hard to avoid someone when you live in such a small town, number of times x has said to y just stay out of my way which is not just possible. Megan telling Dan to stay his side of town and she'll stay hers for instance.? Martha's secret did come out quicker than I thought it would - not a secret lover, but a secret son! She, unwittingly, chose the right person to confide in, but again in a public place as they always seem to do.? ? Kieran is in his 20's it appears and they haven't had a good relationship as she dubbed him in to the cops. She also said she had him before she contacted Alf after all the years she'd been gone. Irene can definitely relate to what Martha is going through though she didn't know what had happened to her secret child until much later. Plus all she went through when they did finally meet. A real dilemma for Martha on when to tell Alf (and Roo), if he is trouble does she want to bring it to Alf's door? Alf had secret children but that was only because he didn't know about them. I'm guessing Martha didn't marry Kieran's dad as she knew she was still married. It will need to be broken to him in just the right way. As an offshoot has Roo told Martha senior about Martha junior? Pity is was an off screen farewell for Ryder. The Porsche is still Rick's. Is that why Bill & Ben - sorry Paul and Leon return? If I remember right the lease to the flat is in Colby's name, would his incarceration mean Dean & Bella would have to leave now or when the lease is up? ?
-
I suppose and it may be a bit picky but a vow renewal isn't the same as remarrying. Oh there is a secret? but ??. It was lovely that Bella put her cares aside and assured Ryder of course he should go off on his placement. He, Ryder, really has matured since he arrived in the bay. She did mention getting Colby to appeal his sentence but as Dean said against what, he admitted he murdered Ross for which he was found guilty. Was that a gentle lie he told her about none of the inmates would know he was an ex cop, well they may not at first but they soon will. Rather a petty thought but wouldn't Bella have to return Colby's uniform? ? It's a lot on Nik's shoulders but he truly loves her which some on here doubt. We don't really know much about Willow and Dean's history back then after the car crash, apart from that he was hospitalised for a while then imprisoned. He has lost two life long friends so would feel lost. He's hitting the self destruct button again which is not good for him or others round him and Bella can't call on Willow to help this time. His trying to reconnect with Ziggy isn't for the right reasons either. You didn't hear things Red - Christian did say 'substantial amount'. so yes, chemo or radiotherapy maybe. Tori's apology was suitably cringy and Christian loved every moment. ?
-
Oh sorry, completely misread that.? Leah and Tori weren't paralysed though, weak after spending so much time in bed unable to move but that's all. One other male character that was left paralysed was Seb, Donald's grandson. Not sure what the law is in Aus regarding prison visits but I doubt if Bella and Dean could just rock at up and ask to see Colby, wouldn't they have to apply for a VO? Colby of course can refuse to allow them to. Do they not allow family to see the convictee before they go off to prison like they do here? While Tori is happy Justin's recovered his feeling in his feet and legs I do see her worry it's too quick for the op, apart from being his sister, she knows something could go wrong however much a skilled surgeon Christian may be. Ultimately though it was Justin's choice. It was probably off screen that Alf told Martha about Alisa and he has had his fair share of relationships, one with Colleen's daughter which was before they found out they were half brother and sister of course.? Then there was Penn's mum, Quinn's mum, Viv Standish which was before Martha. I must admit I didn't give a thought to Martha having had relationships. I chuckled at her "Who said it was with a man?" come back. Is it dated to give the paper work regarding Mac's car a thought, she just handed over the keys, surely it can't be that simple? I thought Mac 'borrowed' Rick's car, did he sign it over to her at some point? Ziggy didn't spend the night with Tane, she sent him on his way and he went quite happily. Justin being wheeled into theatre scuppered her plan to tell him she was struggling at the garage, could she really not give Tane another chance?

I'm pretty sure Ross would have done jail time at some point, but before his kidnapping of Bella and Michelle. I've never made Colby out to be a ultra-powerful Mr. Big, sure that isn't your prejudice getting in the way, hardly a nobody though, he was until he killed Ross an ordinary guy, a good local cop doing his job. Are we watching the same episodes, I'm sure when Ryder ran into Ari and Tane after the incident they mentioned Bella and said that she'd forgiven him. Glad we got to hear Ryder had rung Bella but she wanted to be on her own and he was ringing her tomorrow. She may not want to see anyone but at least she knows people are concerned about her. John, it seemed, was chuffed at being matched to Marilyn and he did seem take her turn down well, but you could see the disappointment on his face. Maz may have deleted the app, but John has decided to carry on. I thought John was the most obvious choice to speak to Justin, after all he has just been there. Not exactly the same, but he could see things through Justin's eyes more clearly than anyone else. John does have a sensitive side, he wasn't all gushing or patronising towards Justin, just told it as it was. Justin's outburst at Leah was the same as when John lashed out at Marilyn - and to use the old cliche - you always hurt the one you love. Did Leah learn nothing from Marilyn's errors, her offering to open the bag with the bun may have been well meant, but as Justin in no uncertain terms pointed out, his arms still worked. Marilyn made the same mistakes with John, John did the same with Jett and I dare say the Morgan's did the same with Mason. It's a natural reaction to do it for them, but ask first if the person wants you to help them. John's talk did the trick though and hey looked what happened Justin got feelings back in his feet. Of course that has triggered more drama! A complete offside, but is it just the men in the bay who suffer an injury/stroke that renders them paralysed for a while/life? I don't remember any woman going through it. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Mac does like to do her own thing and the more likely Ari was telling her no the more she would be likely to do it. She is already involved, her selling the car and paying off Leon and Paul the more likely it is they'd all get uninvolved. Whether it's down to his heritage or he's an old fashioned guy but Ari's attitude is an outdated one. He certainly couldn't come up with a really good reason why she shouldn't. Wasn't it mentioned the car is still legally Rick's?? I too have the feeling it's not going to be that simple.

Considering it was only the night before Colby would certainly remember it. Talking of having blazing rows with the doors open they were at it again, but why were the balcony doors open when the place had been unoccupied? Everyone has 'snarled' "I'm never forgiving you" at someone amongst that group at sometime. Not that long ago Bella was preparing to leave for NZ to get away from Colby, BUT, like the Parata's, when the ? hits the fan, family come first and he is Bella's brother. They all kept stopping Colby from turning himself in, Bella with the most convincing argument she couldn't cope without him. There could be a knock on effect though, somehow Amber is bound to find out, that won't do Dean's chance's of seeing Jai anytime soon any good. Looks like he's totally lost interest in the surf shop. Red, Colby's time inside - 25 years with no chance of parole until he's served 20 - will be nothing like what Ross would have gone through, he'd done time before and would have been looked up to and feared in equal measure. Colby's a cop - well ex cop now- and they never have a good time of it - I repeat Dylan Carter - plus of course the screws won't exactly be on his side either, he's one of theirs. Bit of a dump, that prison, to put it mildly . Is he going to do the "I don't want anyone visiting me" routine? He did keep his word and left Dean out of it, but then he'd always maintained he would. He also kept Willow and Bella out of it. She did a very good impression of letting people she was hearing the news for the first time.? I know he's a killer and broke the oath he took to maintain the law, but the judge made it sound he was a crazed serial killer. Was it the fact he'd kept it hidden for so long? I think Willow did what she did because as she said she was tired of seeing 'the family' tear itself apart, especially since Colby got so obsessed with using Taylor to get info. They were all coping, just, before the body got found, but that is when it started falling apart. Colby admitted that to Willow. Didn't expect to see Willow go so quickly, but it was pleasing that Jasmine didn't seem to blame her, if things had worked our differently Jas could have approached Colby with her proposition. ? Loved the bemused look on John's face, he'll miss Willow, though not as much as Irene and Jasmine. Jas' will be busy finding a replacement manager. Rosetta's victory wasn't as sweet as he'd thought it would be as it's cost him his marriage - or has it? ? Why would would anyone be thanking him btw? None of them were in any danger. I think it was briefly mentioned by Tane last week that Bella had forgiven Ryder for calling the cops. No Ryder or Nic at the trial, had they done their three days, but no explanation why. Why was Irene apologising to Marilyn for having a go at her for having her phone on when she was supposed to be working? I don't know if we'd known before how old John and Maz were but we do now - 61 and 51 respectively. That was funny, well I thought so, when Marilyn laughed at John's profile "easy going" then hit match in error - or was it an error?? He got a shock himself when he saw Marilyn's photo come up, then they are a match.

Wasn't just Dean and Colby who were oblivious about what Willow had done, Bella was in the dark too, how did Willow hold it together when Bella was talking about Colby going to prison and she was assuring her Dean and her would be there for her. What have you got against Dean and Bella all of a sudden Red? Well by the way Alf and Irene were talking to Colby it didn't seem they had any doubts as to his innocence, no mixed messages, like you seem to think there is Red. Dean and Willow know what Ross was like and what he was capable of. He killed Colby's dad and his mum, kidnapped Bella, was ready to kill her or Chelsea or both, shot Willow. So Ross was a bad guy and would never have changed. Killing him was wrong but Colby wasn't a serial killer or a violent thug. Jasmine's 'investment' was perfectly safe the moment he walked into court. ? Taylor wasn't even a witness then, no surprise really as she had nothing to contribute, all Colby asked her was about how the case was going. Maybe the tension would have worked a lot better if we hadn't found out who witness X was, that is how it is normally played, not just the people involved not knowing but us too. Willow approached Rosetta then according to him and no real reason to doubt him. She just wanted to put an end to it all. Are we forgetting Willow has been part of it from the beginning too. Why would Colby put Bella through the pain of seeing Ross's body when there was no need to, despite your hatred of him Red, he does love Bella and no loving family member would want a young girl to see that, especially after it had been in the ground for a year. Colby would have known as soon as he heard the tape who he'd said it to and only the night before which was cutting it fine. I repeat what if he hadn't said those exact words, there'd be no case as there was only circumstantial evidence to link Colby to the crime. There was certainly an audible gasp from the court room and odd there was no-one from the Bay there. Willow very cleverly kept Dean's involvement of his part in the murder out of it, but no cross examination? Last we saw Colby was taking the stand and though we haven't heard the verdict seeing him in a cell does give it away somewhat, that and Dean and Bella's reaction towards Willow. Said that ring tone would soon be annoying.?? Marilyn can have it on in the house if she wants but NOT at work, she's well old enough to know better, not just Irene and the other staff having to put up with but there's the customers to think of. Even if it was on silent she'd be looking at at every time it vibrated, stopping her working which she what's she paid to do. It may have started as a competition so see if she got more calls than John but she's liking it now.
-
Thanks DanF and Red, I wasn't losing my hearing then. Last things first, who approached who and what made Willow decide to turn against Colby and when did it happen? Rosetta's said for a couple of weeks now he's had a witness, but Willow didn't have anything on Colby only Dean telling her Colby had killed Ross, he was there and helped bury the body and Colby himself telling her - off record. Neither Rosetta or Willow could have known Colby would say those words "I killed Ross" not "I did it" or "I had to do what I did" which isn't the same. What would their plan have been if he hadn't said that phrase? How long has Willow been wired up anyway? Colby does seem resigned to going down and their last evening was rather touching. Whatever has happened since Ross was killed Colby'd given Bella a life she wouldn't have had if she was still with Ross. She's been to school, made friends, fallen in love. Not saying things haven't been bad, but she's had good support from Colby, Dean, Willow, Ryder and now Nikau. One thing Colby isn't a serial killer. Jasmine's bail money is safe to. Colby had mentioned he'd fallen for Taylor before and that necklace was a listening device and he didn't know at that instance if she was aware of it or not. Has everyone got their hard hat ready for next week when Witness X aka Willow walks into court. That confession, I'm supposing is admissible, as the buggee knew they were wearing it. You'd think the bay would be used to shock confessions, verdicts about a fellow resident by now but to most of them Colby has been a good guy/cop. They've known their share of bad ones. I was avidly reading who the witnesses for the prosecution were, a couple of cops who were at the crime scene, Kirsty Rendell who I'll make a mad guess at, was one of the backpackers. Chelsea wouldn't say anything as she'd drop herself in it. Taylor - who Colby hadn't admitted anything to but he had asked her how the investigation was going. It was sad about Owen and Roo was desperately trying to convince herself she could get past him looking like Evan. Sad also for Ryder but there is the phone, emails, Facebook. Is that the same dating app - Silver Dreams - Ryder has set Marilyn up on as he did John? May explain the fact Marilyn now has the same ring tone. They both know who they are on the site as no hidden identities but could this see them get back together as they both get jealous of the attention the other is getting??

Party did go well and Justin did amazingly to last as long as he did. To be fair Tori didn't know how special Jasmine's gift was, I hope she appreciates the meaning behind it when she does see it. It wasn't Christian's fault he chose the same one. Good for you Irene rescuing it from the bin, knew she would. That was some cake and no way would have Tori's, even if it had turned out OK, gone round all those guests. The mention of Mason and Robbo was lovely, Tori didn't make a huge thing of it so didn't bring the mood down too much. I couldn't make out what she said though it sounded like she said village and the villagers that couldn't be here. I played it back a couple of times and still couldn't make it out. Anyone know?? Shame it had to end the way it did, Tori did calm down a lot quicker after Christian told her the position he was in than I thought she would. She did acknowledge how stubborn Justin could be. It was a role reversal between Alf and Martha and while it seemed things were OK, Owen even teasing Roo about the fact his name was Owen before they disappeared upstairs, they're not. Sorry to keep banging on about it but the main problem is because Owen is Evan's identical twin, she said herself every time she looks at Owen she sees Evan. and she doesn't know if she could get past it. Of course if he had just been his brother, twin or not, it would have made things easier but the storyline would have had to have been changed. A new character played by a different actor turning up after finding out Evan was his brother and looking for him but discovering he was too late. From the trailer it looked like Rosetta was meeting up with Witness X and telling them they'd made the right decision - intriguing. And was it being suggested to Marilyn she sign up to a dating app?
-
I'm not excusing his behaviour by any means but he has only killed once and we all know why. Ross was no way in any one's wildest imagination an innocent, hadn't been for years. If Ross had kept his trap shut, he'd be in a nice cosy cell but no he had to have that last jibe to Colby about Bella. I said in my post about what Colby would want to do when he discovers the names of the witnesses, apart from X that is, he won't be allowed anywhere near them, Rosetta would be breathing down his neck and I mentioned witness intimidation. It's been said plenty of times, Jasmine only knows him as good Colby, the one she had a brief fling with, the one who has been a good friend to her, who helped her get through Robbo's death. He must have had one hell of a lawyer to get bail and had to to return to the bay as he'd need a address and he'd have to report to the cops at Yabbie Creek, every day/every other day. Most people would rather not go to jail, especially a cop, look what happened to Dylan Carter. Ari and Tane got back unscathed only to walk into a mouthful from Nikau, I know he's someone else you don't like but it wouldn't matter what age he is Ari and Tane still think of him as Mikaere's little boy and their 'little' nephew. Mac was backed into a corner and had no choice really but to tell Nik what was behind the broken window. Of course Nik's annoyed, on one hand he's being told they are all one family, the next he's being shut out because his uncles want to 'protect' him. ? Wouldn't it be better if he knew what was going on so he could watch out for himself and Bella? I know Tane and Ari are no Einstein's but even I know there is no such thing as 'one last job'. Tane wasn't making money out of it, that 'bonus' was Paul's way of saying 'you still owe me'. The next 'last job' will also carry a 'bonus' and the next and the next. Ari knew there was more to Mac's hypothetical murmurings but didn't push it, thinking she was talking about Dean. Despite everything Colby has done since Ross' murder I do believe him when he says he'll keep Dean out of it. It's going to get serious enough pretty soon so what was wrong with having some fun moments? Tori may well be a top surgeon but she is obviously rubbish at baking and cooking. Going off on a tandem, seeing as she clearly good at sewing people up with I dare say very neat stitches how is she at sewing on buttons, repairing tears in shirts and embroidery?? Grace isn't going to care one jot what her cake looks like, she's only one, it's always more to impress the other adults at the party. It was good to see Jasmine involved in it all. That bracelet she got was beautiful and be a lovely reminder of her dad when Grace is old enough to appreciate it. Apart from Ian's accident they were pretty lame excuses why Brody and Ava couldn't make it. Never a mention of Simone when Brody gets in contact. I'm hoping they will mention Mason, along with Robbo, at the party itself, otherwise a bad error on the writer's part. Is that a new ring tone John has on his phone? While it's funny for now it could get very annoying. Marilyn did seem put out that John is dipping his toe in the dating pool, but as told Alf he's just looking.
-
From what I could gather Tane, after Ari's imprisonment and Mikaere's death had spent a lot of time on his own so had no-one he had to answer or account to. But once he reunited with Ari, Nik and Gemma he had rethink his lifestyle, more so after Gemma had left. But that love of danger was and dare say will always be there. Colby, despite what you think about him Red isn't a serial killer, so not as if the whole bay is danger now he's out on bail. Also as you said Jasmine has only seen his good side, even Irene was on her side and agreeing Rosetta knew how to press people's buttons. What would Robbo have made of it all I wonder? There are only a limited few, well not as few as there was at the beginning, who knew The Truth. He was totally out of order threatening Ziggy and Dean was right if Rosetta had seen him he would have been back in jail in a blink of an eye. Though Rosetta doesn't know Ziggy knows, he only thinks, if I've got it right, it's only Willow, Dean and Bella and Chelsea who know anything. Disregarding who we're talking about anyone would be paranoid about who the witnesses are that could land them in jail for a very long time. Just what is he going to do when he gets the names - apart from Witness X which we saw Rosetta arranging - approach them and get done for intimidating a witness, that'll do his case a lot of good. I might not like Rosetta but he must have picked something up from Ziggy and Mac's conversation, nothing to do with what they said, he was too far away, but their manner and body language. If I'm not mistaken there are now seven people who are in on the secret.? Colby does now know Nik knows as he questioned Bella about if Nik had told Ari and Tane. But actually it wouldn't matter as anything they would have been told is hearsay. Why can't Taylor leave the bay? Is she the witness, did they manage to retrieve the necklace and maybe the answer to Taylor's question to Colby "You killed your stepfather/Ross, didn't you?" Will she now say she knew about the bug so it will become admissible evidence? If so that would explain my previous mention about Rosetta wanting the identity of one of the witnesses to be kept secret. Btw pembie Colby instigated the affair with Taylor, he went after her.
-
Avoiding the whole 'is he, isn't he' argument which the courts have yet to decide one way or the other, despite everyone's best efforts Mac now knows the 'secret'. Btw plenty of innocent people have been banged up for crimes they didn't commit despite the police having 'proof'. It seemed to me Ziggy was getting annoyed with Mac banging on about the Ari and Tane mess which as yet hasn't involved anyone dying which was why she blurted it out. Didn't take it too well did she - seeing the way she wallops Dean in the trailer. ? Like you say Red Ziggy has nothing to blame herself for, she like Tane just thought they were transporting hot goods. It did start off as Tane wanting to see if he still had 'it' after being out of the scene for a while but escalated into something way above his capabilities. Certainly a turn around for Ari considering how he was with Tane when he first fetched up, but when push comes to real shove families do stick together as they do in all soaps. As we all know the Braxtons could fight amongst themselves but when someone threatened them they closed ranks. Ok do we believe Paul's assurance there are no drugs involved? If not drugs, guns maybe? Justin now knows the harsh facts, Christian didn't mince his words and Justin wouldn't want him to. Apart from chaining Justin to the bed nothing Christian can do to keep him in hospital unless he collapsed in absolute agony and had to be sedated. I think we can safely predict Tori having another go at Christian at some point but without Justin's OK Christian can't tell Tori anything, good old doctor/patient confidentially. With her doctor head on Tori knows and understands this but as Justin's sister she doesn't. Although he could be seen as down right pig headed can understand why Justin wants to be there for Grace's 1st Birthday Leah will be there as back up - sorry no pun intended. Robbo would have loved it. Just what we needed that bit of light relief provided by John and Ryder. I have to say the name of that dating site - Smoulder - did sound like a porn site to me. I can imagine all the members being bronzed and beautiful guys as well as gals. Perfect hair, teeth, bodies and completely shallow. The one Ryder suggested - Silver Dream(?) - sounded a lot more up John's street. Very discreet remark by Ryder about it being for the 45's +. ? No need yet to mention John's recent stroke on the part that asked about his health. Had to laugh at his posing on the beach for his profile picture.? I think John is quite a good looking older man. Don't forget Red John is also a property developer - yeh right - does Ryder know about his record as a DIYer?
-
It's easy for us to say Nik didn't do the right thing but who knows how anyone would behave if in Nik's position, you are acting on instinct. You used the words yourself Red 'alleged' and 'think' as there is no proof Colby did it, he hadn't confessed so I think it should still be suspicion. It's all in the legal terminology. Ryder did do them a favour in his own clumsy way. The brick, or whatever it was, through the window proves they want the Parata's on edge. Bella, Dean and Willow are in the city rustling up a lawyer for Colby where is Morag when you need her? I said ages ago when Roo first meet Owen she may be transferring her feelings for Evan onto Owen not helped by the fact he is his identical twin not just his brother and it seems to me that is the case. I know she said to Owen nothing physical happened between her and Evan but it didn't have to. Although Owen didn't really disclose much to Ryder his advice was still helpful. I was glad Justin accepted John's help, he has kind of, been there himself and he was great sticking around with Leah until Justin felt more himself. His condition seemed to go downhill pretty quickly though, was nothing picked up when he had his treatment? He had to admit defeat in the end and agree to Leah calling an ambulance. More than just back spasms. Going by the look on Christian's face he didn't have good news.
-
Have we seen Bella visit Colby in his cell in the UK yet? Or are we talking abut her off screen visit? When a cop investigates a crime, especially a murder, he/she is meant to look at all possibilities not focus on one person on whom you have no proof, evidence did it, clue is in the name - investigate. He seemed most annoyed when Willow came up that made up suspect as he didn't want to believe anyone BUT Colby did it. Ok I'll revise my comment about Rosetta, the townsfolk have seen his not so pleasant side. Btw unless I misheard when Rosetta arrested Colby shouldn't he have said 'suspected murder of Ross Dixon'? Colby hadn't confessed to it so he is according to the law, still a suspect. Rosetta had got the wrong man jailed before so he does need to get it right this time. Was it Alf offering to sell up and move to Merimbula what changed Martha's mind, is she keeping the place?? Bound to be something else they disagree about in the future. I did like their making up. ?John did his usual crashing in where he's not wanted but made up for it later with Leah and Justin. Unfair on Owen that Alf and to a degree Marilyn thought he was in the wrong and he'd upset Roo. May seem an old fashioned term but he was very gentlemanly in saying nothing and saying that they should talk to Roo. Maz was being very naive in not catching on what Roo was talking about. That is quite a biggie calling your new love by your late love's name even if it didn't get that far.? The one and only and may be a feeble excuse is they are/were identical twins. Would have been worse if Owen looked nothing like Evan. Has been a long time since Roo has been in a relationship so would be a bit rusty. Owen seemed able to understand and forgive her, but then we saw her storm off in a huff again. Yes at last and it was worth the wait! Poor Justin being asked by his sister if she should wake up Christian so they could make love. Lucky John was there to help Leah with Justin.

It seems we are seeing older residents reactions to Colby's arrest very differently Red. Coloured by, I guess, who we think has been more manipulative. Both are cops, but Rosetta is a detective and using his position to bend the rules to suit him and his belief Colby is guilty. Irene and Alf are going by their memories of the 'old' Rosetta, the one who helped Hugo and Martha get away, they haven't seen him in action as the 'new' Rosetta. I know we know Colby is guilty but Rosetta doesn't and he doesn't, to me at least, appear to be following police guidelines, even before he found out about Taylor and Colby, he was rule bending. I so wanted to give Dean a hug? after Ziggy said although she still loved him she couldn't get past him having been part of a murder. I hope he doesn't do anything stupid and takes in what she said. It was hard enough for Martha to explain to Roo why she needed to keep Merimbula, so of course it would be trickier trying to get Alf to get it. At least he was open to listening to her. Maybe if she told him it wasn't to get away from him and Roo but especially but so as to not put them through the worry of seeing her getting herself back together. ? Did chuckle when Martha and Roo were in the Diner and Marilyn was hovering hoping to pick up on the gossip but was discreetly shooed away. ? Look who's back!!! What did Roo do that was, in her own words, so terrible, was it as I suggested earlier she asked Owen to marry her? ?? We needed some light relief and Tori and Christian provided it. Pitfall of dating a surgeon, you never know then their services will be called on. She did look good in that dress but as before far tmi for Justin's liking. ? OK for Leah to crack risque jokes with maybe her and Marilyn but she is his sister. She did a rubbish job of trying to avoid him the next day, but he wasn't put off by the fact she looked normal, which says a lot for him. Another day long date for them both, amazing he lasted that long and yes it was inevitable he'd fall asleep as soon as Tori left him alone. ??

Slade: You could argue Rosetta's work is his mistress and cares more about that then her. Taylor, in fact, blamed Rosetta more for his actions as he is her husband. I didn't see either Irene or Alf being open to Colby being guilty, in fact a majority of the bay folk, apart from the Parata's who have their own reasons not to like him, see Colby as a good guy. Rosetta doesn't have anything on Colby, just his suspicions and this mysterious witness. The only witness, as far as we are aware, is Dean who actually saw Colby shoot Ross. Did someone else see it or see them bury the body? ? Seems Taylor didn't choose Rosetta's side, that wiped the smug grin off his face, she choose no-one's telling Colby they could both go to hell. They are as bad as each other. OK, there will be Mac, Ziggy, Bella and Nikau living in the same house with only Mac unaware of the truth, that could make things a tad awkward conversation wise. All Bella has told her is that Colby had been sleeping with Rosetta's wife which is why he is on Colby's case and that was to shut her up asking 'why' all the time. Big decision by Nikau to forgo his move to NZ so he could be with Bella and I liked how he stood up to Dean. Talking of Dean, I get how he feels he ought to fess up but he hasn't thought of what that could mean long term, any chance he may have of seeing Jai again would be right down the pan if he goes to jail. Willow was emotionally blackmailing Ziggy into telling Dean she still loved him in order to put him off the whole idea.

They've done both. He and Nicole broke up and he re-joined the police, but there was another scandal.

I think Tane was referring to when they were in NZ?? Ari did time in Aus which is where he met Dean. They do work well when they work together - the Parata's I mean. Lee and Paul didn't have a lot of choice but to go along with the idea, did the rest of the gang get questioned - Yabbie Creek nick isn't that big. Ari ringing rings round Colby was enjoyable. Of course it's not over, Paul and co will just chose somewhere less public, I mean a residential street in the middle of the day! But had all the neighbours died or been abducted by aliens? It is an unusual move for drug dealers to be that upfront about getting revenge/their money back. More of a reason for Ari and Tane wanting Nik and Bella out of there. It was unfair and wrong for Bella to accuse Colby being the one who turned up, he was just answering a call out to a punch up. What is he meant to so say "Sorry I can't go, it'll upset my sister". Btw Mac reminded Bella of the time she was Public Enemy No.1 in Bella's eyes when she didn't want Colby to leave her side, especially for her. Bella had to tell her something about why she's leaving, hence the Colby's sleeping with Taylor line. Colby wasn't the only one in Taylor's bad books so was Rosetta with more reason in my eyes. He had the nerve to say Colby was using her, which OK he was, but totally ignoring the fact he did the self same thing even to the extent of bugging her necklace and he's her husband! He couldn't answer her question as to why he didn't just talk to her when he found out, but that would have spoilt the game he was playing with Colby. Rosetta seemed genuinely stunned when Taylor said their marriage was in trouble before the whole Colby thing which if you think about it is true. If everything had been solid between them Colby wouldn't have got a look in. Colby, if I remember things correctly, hasn't confessed to anything, he asked questions, but nothing to incriminate himself or others. Did he say yes when Taylor asked him if he killed Ross when he yanked the necklace off her and before he threw it away? She's acting pretty cool if he did and who side has Taylor opted to be on? I still maintain there is more to it than there looks. Right from the start Rosetta had Colby in his sights for Ross' murder when initially Colby acted like anyone would, he made no pretence he was sorry Ross was dead but nothing to indicate he'd killed him. If we didn't know any better would we have worked out it was Colby? Rosetta was OK when questioning Bella, not bad with Dean, though we never saw his interview with Willow, it was just Colby he leant on. That arrest - was that really necessary to make it that public or was it to humiliate Colby in front of everyone including Bella and Taylor. Yes that talk between Taylor and Jasmine, she must have been biting her tongue pretty hard when Jas was waxing lyrical about Colby. ? Jasmine hasn't seen Colby's dark side, he has been only good to her, apart from he lost it when she revealed he'd been a River Boy, but they got past it. He helped her get through Robbo dying and been a good friend. That certainly is a way, way out there idea of having him as an IVF donor, even if he would have been willing. She may not want to wait, Tori thought she had more time, Jasmine is a nurse so knows there may be hidden complications. Now, of course, that has been blown out of the water.

Hasn't Bella accused Colby of being Ross Mark II before? There are some differences, Colby let Bella go to school and have friends, the exact opposite of Ross. Ross may have 'raised' Colby, using that term very loosely, but Colby was always fighting against him, defending his mum and Bella, which Bella, Dean and Willow would confirm. Colby may have got away with keeping Bella with him while she was a minor, wasn't he appointed her guardian(?) but now she's an adult nothing or no-one can stop her. Besides wasn't there a time not that long ago where Bella was desperate for Colby not to leave her alone for any period of time? Not the best way for him to find out, would have got anyone's back up, been better if Bella had told him face to face first, but it did come as a shock it was down to him that she was leaving. As an aside she got her passport back very quickly or does it really only take a couple of days in Aus?? That remark re Ross from Nik to Colby, was that a "I'll keep quite if you let us go" challenge? Rather a perfunctory goodbye to Irene after all she had done for Bella - guess Irene never will see the note Bella wrote her.? Rosetta was trying to convince his boss to let him arrest Colby but as he has no proof she said no, even if he has this witness statement. In my eyes, and in law I think, a witness would have to be someone who saw what happened, not someone who heard something or was told something by someone else as that would be just be hearsay. We do see a lot of this Witness Statement file Anyways the Parata's have a heap of other things to worry about! Couldn't decide who was top dog amongst that lot of bad boys, the guy who asked Mack to pass his message on or Lee? Apart from his initial "here we go again" look from Ari he did back Tane. He knows, Tane despite what else he has done, would have nothing to do with drugs. Ryder looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights, but was surprised he did actually call the police. John was at work but he would have seeing all those cars pull up in the close, were all the other neighbours at work too? Might be an easy cop out but the only one with enough dosh is Mack. Would she do that to help Tane and by extension Ari, Nik and Bella. Jut a thought.?
-
Yes, my previously ignored question was answered - thank you Ari! ?? She must have laid her hands on her birth certificate and another proof of identity to apply for it. To be fair Mac doesn't know Colby doesn't know, she was just assuming he knew because after all she doesn't know what has been going on. I can completely understand Ari not wanting to invite Colby to the barbecue and would he want to go anyway? Tane and Nik won't be putting out the bunting either. From what we saw there's a showdown between Nik and Colby with Colby telling Nik Bella wasn't going anywhere, not that he can stop her seeing as she is 18, then Nik drops the bombshell he knows about Ross. Did like that exchange between Ari and Mac on the beach and her starting to strip off to jolt him back to the present, then the teasing later in Salt. Hold onto those light hearted moments, you're going to need them. Look alike interchangeable baddies as well eh Red? I had to smile at that, though when Jasmine said she didn't want to give Grace back I think she meant it in the same way as if Irene or Marilyn would have said it, Grace is a little darling. ? Jasmine is still cool around Christian but not causing any waves just keeping her distance but give her due she doesn't let it interfere with her professional duties when she has to work alongside him. Hey Grace is a method actress! The cast have to react to what she is doing.? Good to see Tori and Christian sort out the Justin problem, Tori recognised she was over reacting again and should leave the doctoring of Justin to Christian and she apologised to Justin for not treating as a adult. Christian was cool about it too so he must really like Tori. To be honest both Martha and Alf are stubborn. Maybe he did assume Martha would move in permanently after their marriage, Alf is an old fashioned guy which Martha should know full well, he's mellowed a bit but he still has his set ways. Couples are separated by circumstances due to one or the others job or occupation, like being in the forces during which you get used to being on your own and doing things your own way and you both have to readjust when they are on leave. With Martha she's choosing to. It'd been 30 years since Martha had lived with Alf so a huge readjustment for them both and she has changed a lot since then. Alf talking to Justina and Martha talking to Irene didn't really solve things. He had a grump about driving up and down the coast.

I'm thinking as we saw Tori in her jimjams she and Christian did make it to bed.? They may be dedicated doctors but not I think that dedicated. That was quite a date, from doing yoga on the beach, back to the Morgan's, Tori making or rather not making dinner, all light hearted, no pressure or expectations. Christian seemed happy to meet Grace again and looked very comfortable with her. Typical big brother reaction from Justin the next morning with him not wanting to see Tori and Christian in perhaps a state of undress. Justin must have had a comfortable night as he showed no signs of pain until he stood, and lucky Christian did stay over and any embarrassment on his behalf was soon forgotten. Christian, not being that close to the Morgan's yet, could give it straight to Justin, hospital now or leave it 24 hours and maybe end up in a wheelchair. Guess his fall took his mind right off that need. Saw in the trailer Tori and Christian having a row (again) about Justin's treatment and the fact Christian had 'allowed' Justin to leave hospital. Tori is of course acting as his sister where Christian is acting as his doctor. Hospital isn't prison and all a doctor can do is strongly advise a patient that leaving wouldn't be in their best interest. I think there is a lot more to Alf and Martha's bickering that there looks and are using Roo's problem with Owen to cover it. Her selling/not selling her house in Merimbula being one issue. I noticed in the Diner Irene backed away when the talk about Roo was getting heated. Roo may well be in her 50's(?) but Alf is still playing the protective dad. At least Owen played the gentleman and refused to tell Alf what the problem was and told him to talk to Roo therefore respecting her right to tell people when and if she wants to. Those mind games can back fire on the people playing them. I'm guessing Angelo didn't hear anything Colby and Taylor were talking about that morning.? I don't think even he could have played it that cool. Annoys the life out of me when people call others on their mobile and when it goes to voice mail NEVER leave a message!? At least we had Willow and in some part John being the voices(s) of reason calming Dean down. That was so sad when he found the drawing Jai had made and Amber had thrown away, but on the plus side, he does have that to keep now. This is one thing he can't blame Colby for, this was down to Francesca. I'm glad he didn't go charging off trying to find them as he hasn't a clue where even to start. I was glad Amber finally answered him, I'm thinking by then she'd had time to cool down herself and think more calmly. May have been a drastic move to make but in the bay she and Jai would have always been in the middle of Francesca and Dean which wouldn't be healthy for the little lad. I spotted she'd taken the bike Dean had brought Jai, not being mercenary but it wouldn't have been cheap and been very wasteful to have left it behind and Jai loved it. Still wondering though about Jai, he's going to be asking about his dad and why he can't see him. He had worried Amber would miss him if Dean and had taken just the two of them away, so he's going to be thinking the same about Dean missing him now it's just Amber and him. Are we, maybe, going to see a runaway story? John is going to miss his little mate too.

Rosetta's plan has gone up in smoke, very professional that having a blazing row in front of the rest of the team, I was being sarcastic, btw where is the sergeant meant to be to be, I know Rosetta is a detective but it's still his station. We all know why Colby honed in on Taylor but it would have still been very insulting for her to be told by her own husband that was the only reason Colby took up with her. I would have smacked him one. You knew where you were with Gene Hunt and he didn't have a wife that he could use to gather evidence - illegally. There.is.no.evidence. It's going to have to be a confession or nothing. Anyway what does the fact Colby has been sleeping with Taylor, for whatever reason, to do with him being prime suspect in Ross' murder? No-one has said anything significant, apart from Rosetta letting drop that there is 'a witness'. Taylor was a sitting duck when it came to Colby honing in on her. She has been Rosetta's wife for a while so knows a cop has to put in the hours, it comes, to use the old cliche, with the job, but this with Colby is different it's become an obsession, no-one else is even remotely in the frame. I did agree with Rosetta not a clever idea of Colby to use his own credit card but apart from paying in cash each time was he supposed to have nicked one? Also wasn't Taylor there ahead of him sometimes? One thing Taylor accusing Colby of being guilty of the crime he's been denying all this time, but he didn't admit to anything and even if he had it would be inadmissible due to the way it was obtained. Also the wearer of the wire/bug has to know it's there. A lot of personal stuff on it neither Rosetta or Taylor would want coming out in court or anywhere. ? It looks like it's not only Bella Colby has lost the support of, now Dean and it doesn't look like he'll be swayed by Willow's pleas either. Amber was building Dean up for a very big fall. It looked promising too, he'd apologised again, he'd only charged around to hers as he thought she or Fran had slipped that wrap sheet under his door and his was sacred it would be used against him. It was seeing Jai alone that made him make that knee jerk reaction. He wasn't blaming her for Jai being left alone and swore he'd never do anything like that again. Amber was cool but gave no indication she was going to do what she did. Dean was too caught in seeing Jai he didn't pick up on what Willow did regards Amber. I don't think Amber has really thought this out because how is she going to tell Jai he will never see his daddy again? Dean's coming back to the bay was more to do with Jai not Colby. Something serious must have happened between Roo and Owen for her to behaving the way she is. Was that a message from him we, too briefly, saw on her phone. Did she propose and he turned her down? Hopefully she'll tell Alf. Is it just me or have the TV mags suddenly changed the spelling of Jai to Jay? Thanks for that Dan.

Yes he did, he told Ziggy the drugs were in the panels of the van, the stolen gear was a cover.

But Dean did say that. Both Colby and Rosetta are being blinded by their obvious dislike of each other and are in my mind as bad as each other. Rosetta is more than happy to bend the rules, even break them to get Colby. Though I haven't got that much time for Taylor, she is stuck in the middle being used by both her lover and husband. In fact hubby has gone as far as bugging her with that necklace he gave her as he loves her so much. We know Rosetta hasn't any evidence, which is what is needed to bring any case, to prove or disprove anything either way, but Colby doesn't know that for sure. Colby couldn't/wouldn't believe Rosetta would tell Bella he knew he and Taylor were still seeing each other, what would he achieve apart from winding Colby up enough to make a mistake. It has pushed Bella into changing her mind as she has had enough of his lies and made a farce of her staying in the bay to be there for him as 'he needs her'. Sorry to be boring but I will ask again, but does Bella have a passport? Colby can be very persuasive and Taylor must have it bad to agree to lift Rosetta's keys and how handy was it that Rosetta left them on his desk for her to pick up.? Colby sure got a shock, he found things he certainly didn't expect, Rosetta must have got hold of that CCTV footage pretty quick, wonder what tale he spun them to get them to hand over the stills. Now he's been sprung, just as he was getting to what he was looking for in the first place. I do have to say Colby wasn't very original in the choice of name he chose to book in under - Smith!? Seeing as his own name was on the credit card he used the motel must be used to a lot of Mr. Smith's popping in. Didn't see Taylor's name as Mrs. Smith? By some fluke Colby has sussed Taylor's pendant isn't just a pendant and that 'confession' was it for Rosetta's benefit? Tane didn't really have any choice but to fess up to Ziggy she can be very determined, but for now she is keeping schtum to Willow as to why it's important to get the van back. Getting hold of £25,000 in two days would be hard to get hold of legally, even illegally would be tough, if not impossible. OK Tane isn't a drug dealer so why did he agree to transport them? That car is Ziggy's, the one she and Dean did up, but what I want to know is how she and Willow got back to the farm from wherever they went to, seeing as they both went in the van.? It wasn't close from what I can remember Ziggy saying. Roo is being very secretive about Owen and his whereabouts which is never a good idea as people soon pick up on it as Marilyn and Ryder already have, plus Roo is a rubbish liar. Did smile when Ryder was saying to Maz about he didn't want to bother Owen and Roo would tell them in her own time so they should back off when it was obvious they were both busting to find out what had occurred.
